i loved how he twitched when he realized Kishin has happy memories as well as angry ones. Proves that he's an intelligent being, or at least a thoughtful one.


I think the pod just stunned him for a moment, it was the rocket launcher the the eye that messed up his pressure mechanism.

We still need to wait for the translation, but.

At one time Clover 'eats' a pod via his feeder tubes. He then goes mad, and iq hit in the eye. He's been hurt. Then he goes to the sea again and shrinks to some kind of peanut, of which there are lots... They're conneceted Sea bed nectar?

i think we all are, a little bit. but the thing we all have to remember, is that they only ever give us a taste of info. they shoot us in the ass with a BBgun; they never blow our heads off with a 12-gauge.

the strange ending with the gigantic sac-things was enough for me to get over any disappointment. clover2 is actually injured (hell, a rocket in the eye would do it Very Happy), and jets down to that weird sac thing and reabsorbs. then it pans out to show LOTS of strange sac things.

kingspade just started a new thread for speculation on this manga... let's redirect crazy thoughts there, so we don't clutter kosmo's thread. that way the translation will be easier for us to read, step-by-step.

aiko is way hotter with her hair in a ponytail. wow, i'm so kidding. but the panel where kishin accidentally grabs her boob is priceless. evangelion, anyone? they're even in the exact same pose as shinji and rei Very Happy

 		 Holy....
Ok, now that was a sweet conclusion. Here's my highlights:

1) Feeding tubes! YAY! Can see why they didn't make it into the movie though...that's a lot of up close and personal with the monster. I'm guessing the budget or the rendering couldn't handle it.

2) Well, we can definitely say there's more than one Clover now. Let's call this one J-Clover to keep them separate.

3) Guess the Japanese are better shots than we are if hitting a Clover monster in the eye actually works. Unfortunately, it didn't appear to do much else other than hurt a bit. Paging Saul Tigh, we need a huge eyepatch STAT!

4) My interpretation of J-Clover's end: The pod induced some sort of empathic response that drove J-C back "home". Unfortunately, either his time on land or his injury caused the pressure to catastrophically affect his system. He's crushed to death, but not before embracing what he came down for. I don't think he was absorbed, just pulped against the structure like a flattened out lump of modeling clay. Gonna have to wait for the translation though to completely understand what happened.

5) HUGE SAC THINGS! Clover eggs? SBN producing organisms? Both? Maybe the mature Clover is a huge plant thing (like a coral)? Holy crap...those pages open a boatload of possibilities. Let the spec begin.

I'll hold off final judgment until the translation is done, but it looks like overall this was a pretty good story in the Cloverfield world.

 		If you look at the sacs it looks like they open like flower petals... maybe 4 petals looking like a 4 leaf clover? So I do hope this makes the Comic Canon...?

I'm pretty sure this is where Clovie came from. The sac looks big enough to hold him (if he's in fetal position, like as shown in the DVD special features)

3 Things I'm guessing:
1) Thats the Clovie homebase, and when he regenerates, he somehow goes to NY and attacks
2) He's waking up the NYC Clovie, which seems to break off and hatch along Chuai
3) Tag excavates another egg (Probably where seabed nectar comes from too) and bring it to Chuai, and Chuai to NYC events happens

Speculation of course ._. (Then again, translations will prolly prove me wrong)

 		Didn't you here Clover is the new host of Extreme Makeover... he came all the way from the oceans depths to help poor Aiba Kishin impress the ladies, The hair HAD to go... The parasites are there to keep his weight in check if he over does it and puts on weight he's gettin' bit... lol
