[spec] [puzzle] origin of coordinates

Spec/puzzle
Quote:
My theory, she already had them as a kind of map to pinpoint specific locations. In the future it is very unlikely that the land shapes will alter greatly, as well as most cities probably only getting bigger, not being removed completely.
Of course thats only if you look at the coordinates as connected, if they are not connected ie: All different things then my theory doesn't really work

Just thought that i would start another thread on this topic, instead of spamming one that is already 17 pages.
For what reason would she/it already have the locations in her memory? Unless it was part of her original mission objective?
sorry for making this post short *is at work right now*

I found this text, which might support the theory that she is trying to get her beaings, so to speak:

Quote:
"I'm crying, and my tears are made of sand.

MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY

FIELD EXPEDIENT DIRECTION FINDING

"Find a straight stick about a meter long and stand it upright on fairly level upright ground. Mark the tip of the shadow cast by the stick: wait 15 minutes: mark the shadow again. Draw a line from the first mark through the second and some way beyond. Stand with your left foot on the first mark and your right on the end of the line. In the northern hemisphere, you will now be facing north, and can recall the other directions by their relationship to north. In the south, contrariwise."

Hm.

No stick.
No sun.

Two things: How do we know this is part of memory, and This would be written (as far as past knowledge lets us know) by SPDR, not the queen. I know you don't say the queen, but it would appear that you are referencing the queen...

Black background/white text = SPDR
Maroon text= Operator/Queen/Melissa
white text/white background = Flea
hidden text (pictures) or green text = Princess (maybe not asleep anymore)

Let me try to recap some theories on how the coordinates are set:

1. Phones. (When 'Axons go hot' there might be phone calls at the various locations. Not everywhere seems to have a phone, though.)

2. Landmarks and plaques nearby (This could also be historic markers, allowing for the 'urban' locations.)

3. Common locations like Libraries, Game Stores (Well, there doesn't seem to be a library everywhere, or a game store everywhere, but is it possible there's some theming going on like with the the links puzzle? That is, all the places with libraries need to be grouped together, all the places with museums need to be grouped together, etc.)

4. Geocaching (Nobody's found a cache yet. It's possible some could be added later.)

Also mentioned:

5. Wi-fi hotspots (In which case, this could easily be tied to the countdown time.)
