I got it too, and they got my agent number right from VITD.

The Piccadilly circus stuff reminds me of something, but don't remember from where. drat.

Pardoner's Tale is Chaucer. (confirm)

Okay, off the top of my head I'm going to say there are a LOT of ARG references here, maybe beyond VITD & CON08. There's just a TON of stuff in that pic.

Do you think we should email them and try to get an Agent number?

I sent an email off, no response, feel free to do so if you want.

The paper lanterns (left side) are at the Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto, Japan.

I noticed the registration plate of the car (just below the cross) it is 11-91. I thought it was a psalm from the Bible but my search came up with nothing. Could be a date?

EDIT: The letters VOC near the windmill are a logo of Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie or Dutch United East India Company which was created in 1602. It was a trading company and it was one of the most successful trading organizations.

core dump

Slanty stuff in the top right corner is (fixed...had 3D9 at end):
YUdVZ2QybHNiQ0J1YjNRZ2MzUnZjQT09
Which is Base 64 and gave:
aGUgd2lsbCBub3Qgc3RvcA==

Which in Base 64 (again) gives..."he will not stop"

@SuperSlug ...Good one.
The wiki article on Yasaka Shrine (not much there) is at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasaka_Shrine

There is a pardonerstale.com but it's empty

The eye might have come from Kantsaywhere...

The street scene is Japan (You can see the steering wheel on the right side and kanji? on the sun visor of the taxi - left car) I think the company name is Maten, but...

The missle is a Titan 2

@clandestino... Good find. Here's the wiki.

I've tweaked the picture colors some, which helps, but I sjuk at photoshop... Anyone have something better?

Got the email too, but I haven't been in any previous ARG's so far, so I don't think that they'd be related.

Guess I'm in on this as well Smile

EDIT: Also, no Agent number in my To: field in the email, for anyone.

Enigma your agent number will be the one next to your email address in the 'to' field. 01 Is who sent us the email.

I'm Agent 72. Although I don't recall playing VitD (I watched) And wasn't really around for Con08

Edit: Oh and probably unrelated totally, but the tube map was used in SUBnet once or twice.

Erk, I just noticed...I got the e-mail too! I don't see any number next to my email address though, it must be a setting I have or something?

I think that second russian word isn't вога but БОГA, which means God in english. So the translation could be God's machine, or machine of the God.

Yes, it is. Thank you clandestino! (My spouse saw the Russian to English dictionary had been moved and asked if I was translating again. Very Happy )

For the record, I got it too; I can't tell what agent I am...?

I have to say it's very similar to VITD in that:

1) They like including multiple email addresses in the "To". Go go Gadget Information Disclosure!

2) They like attaching a 3Mb file and hammering it into my mailbox.

But it is way cool image... Smile

I got this one too. Your number's up in the "To" field Night, right next to your name. You're Agent 75.
Anyway, I'll probably follow this one since I've been bored out of my mind revising for the past while.
Anyway, Agent 86 reporting for duty! Very Happy

Kosmopol aka Merzmensch aka Hans Altmann aka Agent 111 is also reporting to duty! Smile

I read the Russian as

Quote:
Машина Бога

it does mean: a God`s machine ( not like "deus ex machina", but "machina dei").

I have a great feeling, people.

UPDATE: Oh, you have already figured it out Smile
Update 2: Btw, who is Fish Family? Only this address (and Muromets) aren`t recruited agents.

UPDATE 3. The Japanese manuscript is about Dutch ships
compare it here http://mooonriver.blogspot.com/2007/01/dutch-ships.html

translation of the writing:
Quote:
A long time ago the Dutch already were very skilled in navigation, and Dutch ships sailed around the world.
The Dutch are very well versed in shipbuilding and of how to use ships profitably for foreign markets.
They chose good materials and worked like when building up stone walls; they used iron nails and filled up cracks with tar and hemp.
In the fourth month they sailed from their country (from Indonesia, the journey from Indonesia lasted much longer) and in the sixth month they arrived here.
When (the ship arrives) in Nagasaki and the cannons, which are placed side by side, are fired, clouds appear and make the ship invisible. When the smoke has risen, the sails that had been visible in large numbers suddenly appear to have been rolled up.
Upon departure they also fire cannons, and before the smoke has risen they have already hoisted the sails, astonishing the spectators.
Their maneuvering is truly miraculously fast and mysterious.

Ok, this time it isn`t my translation, next time I`ll do my very best, Smile
Here is translation origin http://www.iisg.nl/exhibitions/japaneseprints/31.html
