EMAIL ET: Empty Threats on Wednesday

Not sure if this will mean anything, but the last email in the exchange seemed a strange response. To sum up, it's an exchange I've had with Angie regarding dinner reservations for Wed the 19th (St Joseph's Day).

-----------
Angie,

Sorry about the mixup with that last email. No harm, no foul as they say.

Maybe me and Angelina should stop by for a good family meal. I'm thinking that maybe next Wednesday the 19th might be a good time to stop by. We usually go to Barcelona's over here in Garfield that day, but we figure what the hey, we all family that day.

So you open and have a spot for us, or are you having a closed function? Maybe we stop and see the parade beforehand?

Nicky

-------

Hi Nicky. Barcelona's is a nice place for "family" dining, but we probably have a more interesting atmosphere. Yes, we are open for public dining on Wednesday (but we are already booked until 8p). What time and how many?

Oh, you know the restaurant is non-smoking, right?

Angie

-----

Hi Angie,

I'm glad but suprised that you are not yet booked for the night (papa Guiseppe, rest his soul, must be turning over in his grave). Maybe we can get to talk about what may bring in more business.

Anyway can't wait to try your special minestra di San Giuse for the day. Maybe Angel will even make up some Cavazune to bring to share after the meal. That would be OK by you?

So if you please, put us down for a table for 2 at 9p.

Nicky

P.S. Just wondering when the parade and festivities will be held. Maybe we attend over there this year

------

Okay, Nicky. I can just make room for you at 9:30pm, is that too late?
We have plenty of business, just there are a lot of places for our friends to celebrate and many of them wanted to be home earlier in the evening (is there something on TV that night, or are they worried about the start of another war in the middle east...). I have no idea what the chef will put into the pot that night (but we get fresh vegetables delivered daily).

Thanks for the offer of the Cavazune, but city and state health code states that it can only be served to yourselves and not shared with any other patrons inside our restaurant.

See you Wednesday.
Angie.

------

Angie,

9:30 it shall be. Then Angel bring one Cavazune for you in honor of Guiseppe. It is only fitting on his patron's day.

Nicky

-----

Nicky, I'm so embarressed about this. Uncle Don just informed me that a "close and personal friend" has requested the use of the restaurant on
Wednesday, for his own party, and now I have to call (or write) all of our patrons to cancel their reservations. I feel so bad (since you may not be able to get into Barcelona now). And I'm a little mad that I have to be the one to call everyone (Paula got the weekend off, and this part of the job is too demeaning for the boys). I promise to make it up to you. When you do stop in, introduce yourself and I'll make sure you get a nice bottle of wine with your dinner, on the house.

Angie

------

As I said, may be nothing, but figured I'd post it JIC. Regardless, I am impressed with the nature of the exchanges and spirit of "keeping in character".
