i agree the news got plenty of shots,

but for the sake of argument, lets say the gov. confiscated all that footage, and it wasn't broadcast outside of nyc.

Cell phones were still working, Rob talked to his mom on the phone! I doubt you can cover up hundreds of thousands of phone calls all saying something along the lines of "I saw it, Its alive, Its huge!"

Considering the 'hack', it'll be hard to say what content is valid now. This is the problem with such 'new information' - until there is some form of corroboration from another source, we can't easily tell what's official and what's not. (Took quite a while to get people to believe BoldFutura.jp was fake, until basically none of the other sites ever had anything to acknowledge it.) So much of this info is the kind of thing we've wanted to hear, so I'm even more cautious about it. Most of what we've heard in the viral over time has actually surprised us at some level.

If any of it is true, I note one thing: If kaitei no mitsu (seabed's nectar) makes an organism proximal to it 'self healing', considering the dose Jamie got she ought to be indestructable. Shocked

On the flip side, we blatantly saw national news feeds of the monster. Trying to later say it was a terrorist plot is going to be a pretty hard sell... kind of like trying to tell thousands of witnesses on the ground at Ground Zero of 9/11 that they didn't really see planes hit the WTC...

Oh wait, there are people that believe that. Rolling Eyes

Yeh, it is fishy, but why would a hacker change the site back to normal and then update it with a heck ton of emails/letters?

No one said the government was successful at convincing people it was a terrorist attack, it was just their cover story at the moment to keep people from going in.

Ugh!! I want to believe, but this juicy morsel of a clue has been sullied.

One point: Did anyone else notice that in the 2nd e-mail that Alyse allegedly posted that Miranda's "sister" signed off as Anonymous "in order to protect" her contacts; BUT when Miranda e-mailed her to let her know when she would be coming home the e-mail is for Alex?

"'Alex, I've finished my work here. Looks like everything's legit. I'll be home on Sunday. Your Sister, Miranda.'"

Huh? Is 'Anonymous' being intentional here, or is that just sloppy?

Maybe the better question is: since the site was hacked, does it even matter?

Why am I pondering this at 4:35 a.m.? Insomnia.

Oh my god, this is one of the best MTH updates ever! It gives so much information about why Tagruato build a station around the monster and what they used the monster for!
It also says that Teddy was already working/speaking with TIDO while he worked for Tagruato. Jean Pierre Tujour is a name he mentioned and we all know that TIDOwave is organized by some french people. The scientist said also that Teddy was trying to find out the true inner workings of Tagruato for the french person. I also think its very cool that Tagruato called their project "Cloverfield".

We got a little refference to the evidence that Teddy send to Jamie. A bit of wax taken of Cloverfield and Teddy took it with him. Its almost official now that the monster was used to capitalize Tagruato. They used it as a source to make technology. Teddy did mention this was some kind of other Wax then they normally used. This one wasnt able to repair itself but had living organisms on it. Maybe the parasites?
