Just received a mail from Markus:

musste. Irgendwie war es ein ganz anderes erlebnis.

I cannot remember much, it was horrible. I spent all the time either in darkness or with a blindfold round my head.

Theo told me that he wanted me to run endless labyrinths for him, and I was to tell I what I could see. But I couldn't see anything.

I want to meet people here in England, so I can run a labyrinth with them. I believe that a labyrinth cannot be run against one's will, it doesn't work this way. I was feeling completely strange when I had to run under Theo's orders. Somehow it was a completely different experience.

Markus

This seems really important. No one can force you to trigger the labyrinth effect - maybe this is valid even for the desynchronizing activities Theo and his people are trying to force us into?

What? Markus escapes from a person to person encounter with Theo? So, can he tell us who Theo is? Or isn't?

I'm guessing probably not. He said he was blindfolded and kept in the dark. Sad

But what language did Theo speak? What accent? He could say if it was any recognizable voice or not!

Good point. Let's see what other info Markus can remember!

I translated the Markus blog already on the wiki:

Quote:

Theo had kidnapped me. I still do not know what he wants, but I am no longer his hostage.
I have not seen how Theo is looking like, but I achieved to write notes on the blindfold they tied around my head.

He has not seen Theo.

I picture him writing the notes while the blindfold was still tied around his head.

Doesn't the blog entry indicate Theo was a "he" and spoke to Markus?

More detailed mail from Markus

Quote:

> - Was glaubst Du, warum Du die Augenbinde bekommen hast? Ging es nur
> darum, daß Du Theo nicht siehst? Ging es um die Regeln des
> Labyrinthlaufes?

> vielleicht sogar Kinder beteiligt waren?

Frauen und Männer. Kinder...

Was hast
> Du gedacht? Was hast Du gefühlt?

Ich fühlte mich wie ein Versager. Vor allem als eine Stimme mir gesagt
hat, er hätte meinen Blog gehackt. Das war für mich total schwierig.

Ich hoffe das hilft euch!

More detailed mail from Markus

Quote:
Thanks for your mail. I will tell you as much as I know:

> - Where exactly did Theo (was it Theo?) get you?

Just outside the airport in Dubai. I got on a taxi and when I shut the door someone put something over my face. After that I dropped off to sleep. I didn't recognize the driver - er wore sunglasses. Which I found somewhat strange as it was almost 1 o'clock A.M.

> - Could you see Theo or some of Theo's people - even if it was only for a few moments? Or did they blindfold you immediately?

I never saw them. But I think there were three of them that were with me. Their voices were different, but I might be wrong here - I was very disoriented.

> - Which language did Theo speak with you? German? English? (In case it was English: What kind of English: British? US?) Did he speak with an accent? Low-pitched or high-pitched voice? Any peculiarities of speech?

One of the people who talked to me during my month of imprisonment had an English accent, one had and American accent, the third one spoke German with a Swiss accent.

> - What do you think why the blindfolded you? Was it only so you couldn't see Theo? Was it because of the rules of labyrinth running? Or maybe because of a certain place you were not supposed to see?

The voices just told me that I had to remain blind all the time. More I do not know.

> - What did the place where you were smell and taste like, what did it feel like? If one can't use one's eyes, the other senses often are sharpened considerably!

I believe I was somewhere in the desert. It was very warm during the day, and I could feel sand on the ground all over the place.

> - How large was the labyrinth you were supposed to run?

I would say about 30 m wide.

> - Was it a labyrinth with living walls (made of people)? If yes, how many people do you think were participating? Did they hum? Could you hear whether there were men and women, maybe even children?

Women and men. Children ... well, I don't think so. Might be, however. I would run the labyrinth, and when I reached the middle they would pull me out and demand me to begin from the beginning again. Most of them were men, I think.

> - Did Theo just generally ask you to see something, or did he ask for something special you were supposed to focus on?

Generally, but he seemed to think that I knew what he wanted from me.

> - What did you think during this whole time? What was going on in your head, what did you feel?

I felt like a failure. Especially when one voice told me he had hacked my blog. That was very difficult for me.

I hope this will help you!

Markus

Note: As always with Markus, his German is not quite perfect standard German. There are certain expressions that sound very much as if they have been literally translated from English into German first ("Ich würde das Labyrinth rennen" - incorrect in German in this context, but a perfectly normal English "I would run the labyrinth" ...)

Perhaps Markus should do a personal labyrinth now and see if he can get any information out of it, too. I am curious to see if his ability to get visions from a personal labyrinth has been "damaged" in some way by his experience.

I actually suggested this to him in a mail I wrote on Friday. Let's see whether he'll react ...

Ummm .... According to Ch.19 of the Codex, living walls may not be used for personal labyrinths, and considering they made him stop at the middle and restart, the labyrinth seems to have been much different from the typical personal labyrinths.

You mean the word würde isn't used to express repeated or habitual action in the past.

By the way, I want to know more about the situation in which he escaped. For example, did he remove the blindfold when he was away from the labyrinth?

Well, if he wasn't - if he is on Theo's side and just trying to deceive us - where would this misdirection lead us? What are his (fake) experiences supposed to tell us? Go and try a labyrinth such as the one Theo wanted me to try? Don't try it, because it doesn't work?

I think his memories are too inaccurate and blurry to interpret them as well-organized misdirection.

A reaction from Kai:
Quote:

Canzonett,

This is really interesting! Have you shared it with the others? I'm
not sure what in here is of use to us, but there's got to be something!
Has anyone contacted the rest of the Six to compare their stories of
Labyrinths where they have been able to see things from other worlds?
We have to figure out what went wrong (or right from our perspective)
with Markus, so that we don't make the same mistakes with James!

Thanks for everything you're doing! Hopefully some others can help you,
I don't want you losing your job over this!

-Kai

---> So, let's ask the other Five (at least those we can contact) about their labyrinth experiences and compare their stories!
