Pentax is a very real, big company that makes cameras and lenses; they've been around since 1919.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentax
Their cameras are fantastic, and I have at least one antique one from them.

Hey, I'm reading through this thread and I think I found where they took one of the pictures from, or at least part of one.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
schoolhallway.jpg: Ljubljana; Lokacije; NUK;
NUK is the national library of Slovenia and the library for the University of Ljubljana
If you go to their website, http://www.nuk.uni-lj.si/nuk.asp , and wait you will see pictures with similar architecture. Though I haven't seen this photo.
Though schoolhallway.jpg looks to be a composite to me.

So I was hesitant to follow this, as I had heard that some woman who hit the lottery in Texas was claiming she was going to open a school of wizardry and witchcraft...
Anyway, having gone through this thread, this looks interesting. I've sent the e-mail.
And btw, having grown up in Texas, there are a number of places in East Texas that look like the location... obviously without the castle, that is.

As sad as I would be to find out this is not a fun game for me to play, I would be so happy to find out it was a real school. Even if it was full of crazy people who can't actually do magic, I would still die happy knowing it exists.

I cross-referenced "Joseph Campbell" with "hero's journey" and found this Wikipedia article.

I don't know if it has anything to do with Ravenwood, but I thought it was interesting.

made me think that but
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The source code contains http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js a free web tracker and www.w3.org a site to help develop the internet, Now it strikes me (may be wrong I am new here) that such a large production would use some more high end kit?

google analytics is actually pretty comprehensive, and I've seen the urchin in many, many 'anonymous' arg sites, of all sizes. I think it's still more than feasible. And free. Why go with something more 'high end' when something is already extremely detailed and free?
