Most ATM's have webcams ...

Malls have security cameras....
Parking lots have the same...
Now the ..open fields or .. parks ...vacant lots .. no clue about those

Since we know that Our AI(s) can access dana's webcam, I think we should be looking for any type of camera .. as well as caches , ad clues ..ect.

I haven't seen many post's including technology of this sort in the recon post's .. i have seen ATM's and thats where this thought has come from .. Post's including this would seem to be beneficial.. please correct me if im wrong .. and look for Big brother ..

okay, but how would that benefit the operator/melissa? i mean, i don't necessarily think that finding dana is its number one priority, so what else would it be searching for through the cameras?

[SPEC] it could be a Event Log like posted earlier, that once solved/narrowed down .. may be the next step ..clue to finding the Queen or Melissa/OP.. No clue what it may be trying to find other than recon of our coastal regions ..

I live in Alton, IL. It seems _very_ strange to me that the PMs would choose Alton as one of the locations. We only have a population of 30,000, we're not really famous for much... I dunno.

Anyway, my point is that the location of the point is on or around a strip mall type deal, all that's really there of interest is a Blockbuster, a Dollard store, if you go a little farther off the point there's a gas station, a Walgreens and a CVS pharmacy.

As for ingame, I'm not really sure what a nothingness place in a nothing town would have to do with this plot.
OOG, the only thing of interest is the Blockbuster (I noticed somebody else found a blockbuster at another location). As has been stated, though, Bungie denies that the game will come out or that there will even be a demo. However, the way the post was made ("I have no idea how this rumor got started" ect ect), when of course at least one person who asked about an early release had to have mentioned ILB and the countdown timer, leads me to think that it's your typical political misdirection. Maybe that's just opimism taking hold of me.

I'm not sure what we can do with this clue that we aren't already doing. This game seems very frustrating. We've got all this raw data and we have no idea where to go with it.

okay, let's clear this up for the last time (and admins might make a sticky about it). there is absolutely no chance that it has anything to do w/ demos coming out or playable games being at the mapped coordinates. the reason is simple: sedalia, mo. this isn't a huge town, and yet there are 7 coordinates located in it. not only does this point to the idea that there won't be anything Halo 2 related at this location, but i highly doubt that ANYTHING will happen at this location. the coordinates puzzle has not been solved by simply mapping the coordinates, and i'll eat my hat if i'm wrong.

there are no historical landmarks in ft. dodge, ia. you can find a list of historic landmarks by state at the NHL website.

http://www.cr.nps.gov/nhl/designations/listsofNHLs.htm

i also looked for libraries, and both are found on the opposite side of the town. i can try to find out more info (i live in iowa, that's why i've been looking at this spot), but i don't know anyone who would be in ft. dodge right now.

As someone noted earlier, and I think I responded, there is a Target on one side of the street of the coord in Ft. Dodge, and a Hy-Vee supermarket on the other. Both address coords are right next to the GPS coord. But I was down in Ames in May and was at a Hy-Vee where they have Chinese food in their deli.

That also brings me back to my trip to St. Cloud, MN tonight (45.5533 -94.2096). There is a Chinese restaurant (The Chinese Phoenix Express) right at the exact same spot.
However, it is in the middle of the retail area of town. So there is a mall with loads of stores, and restaurants around it, and a car dealership. I didn't go into the Chinese restaurant because I forgot, and it was DAMN cold outside. STUPID Minnesota weather!! And I forgot to look for cameras on the road.
So my point is...maybe if we compile certain groups of these locations, we'll see similarities in where they are located. Maybe that will create groups we need to look at.

Location: undesirable

For the sake of completion, I'm posting about going here: 33.7895 -117.9148.

Here is the map of the coordinate. Since mapquest has a wrong address for this location (there is no 2565 anything anywhere near there - on the east side of Harbor it's the 23xx block, and on the west - 11xxx), it's kinda hard to tell which 100ft^2 (or whatever it's supposed to be) area I'm supposed to be looking at - without a GPS device.

But anyway, there is absolutely nothing that I could find even remotely interesting there. On the east side is a block of hotels, with some restaurants there as well (nothing Chinese, though); and on the west side, there are a few stores and food places - Big 5 sports, Del Taco, some scummy clothing stores. I didn't see any payphones. I have no idea what could possibly be of interest anywhere near there.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Janesville, WI, yet, but its a town of about 40,000. Can't imagine anything important being there.

Do you live there? Or nearby? If so, just go there and look around. If you have the time that is. (And if you're on here, you probably do)

Maybe the locations mean nothing, but we can think about them for now.

And I wouldn't put it past Bungie, or Microsoft, to be this involved and in depth. For example, this summer's college interns at Microsoft had a 3 day scavenger hunt throughout Washington state, designed by Microsoft engineers in their spare time. Clues included random cell phone calls and items left in trash bins in the middle of a forest outside of town...

I think he's on to something here about the timespan of this puzzle. The PMs wouldn't made it so easy that it could be solved right away and leave us waiting around 13 more days for the next piece. Maybe we're getting another clue not before too long. Perhaps Dana will update her blog or another ladybee777 email will come in. Who knows. For now these coordinates are drawing up blanks until we can find the relationship between.

Hello, I've been following the game for a while now and I was wondering if anyone had pinpointed the exact location of the point on/near Fargo, North Dakota?

I don't see any notes on this one. If you're there, go for it.

Unless there will be some sort of RL event at these locations in two weeks, and the PMs want to give maximum time to get as many players out there as possible. Building the player base.

Strip malls do also seem to show up in the list. Possibly just a coincidence because they are so common in the residential US. Wink

Relax. This is not a one day puzzle. We've hardly scratched the surface of the information we can get, and haven't even started organizing it. Sure, it'll take a while to sort through 200-odd locations, but that's the point, eh?

I am personally appreciative of a puzzle I can actually work on, rather than come back after an update to find it has been solved in an eyeblink.
