After hunting for infinitesimally small features on Google Maps for Geopikzz, I think I could spot a gnat's eyelash at 30 yards. Very Happy

In all honesty though, I almost missed it. I was lining up the two images in Photoshop with one layer using Difference blending. I never had a perfect match at the zoom I was using, but I just attributed it to JPEG artifact. Then I went back to it a couple hours later and attempted the match, when I was zoomed in farther (using arrow keys to shift moves the layer different amounts depending on zoom). Shifting the layer a bit more, the image went black meaning proper alignment, except for one spot the popped out like an 'idea bulb' on a cartoon character. Very lucky indeed.

At least it's only your first name, hon, mine's both. XD I need a new ARGing email.

Go Go Gadget Where's Waldo powers, Toasty. XD Smart move with the Photoshopping. And I agree with Omega, that's the Counter Intelligence logo, minus the 4th in the middle.

Updated the Agent List... Are you any of the other adresses, Lunsford, or did you not have a number?

I sent an email to 0 1 asking if the image was from the Oct 19th attacks, but haven't gotten a response yet. Also added Takahashi on Facebook, but haven't gotten a friend confirmation yet. It's not remotely uncommon to get randomly added by people, far as I've seen. Polina says that the mantis (it's a mantis, dammit!) picture was taken at a friend's place in Russia - I think this friend of hers is her connection to this mess, if he has the Iconoclast logo up in his room/lab.

New email from 0 1:

Quote:
Ok, I lied.

Well, actually i didn't lie to you. The media and the government lied to you. The attack at the dome of the rock that started a limited conflict between Israel and a short lived alliance of Syria and Iran was not just a terrorist attack. I suspected that the Parousia Ministry was behind it as to fulfill prophecy and rebuild the third temple. However the more that i looked into it, the stranger the case seemed to get. not to mention dangerous. Do you believe in God? or angels? or demons? or flying pigs?, i certainly do not. I mean i do attend Jewish holidays only for the sake of tradition, but i really dont believe in any of it. Not that i care what you believe in, that is your own business. The attack at the dome of the rock was not to destroy it, but rather, to break into it. Apparently there was something kept inside that someone with a lot of financial resources and political connections wanted. For those that are do not know, or happen to be too lazy to look it up. The dome of the rock was built not really as a temple, but rather to house something of vast importance to the Jewish and Muslim faith. the specifics do not matter, but the so called 'foundation stone', hidden in what people today call the "well of souls" (cool name isnt it?) was the reason of the attack. Whatever it was -and i have no idea-, was stolen, everything else left. Which leads me to believe that whoever took this item was not Jewish or Muslim. I have no idea why someone would want this thing. Perhaps because it is a holy relic with miraculous properties? probably not. Did you ever read any writings of Arthur C. Clarke?. According to him, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." I really cant say more than that because I am also in the dark trying to figure this out. As many of you may be aware, I am currently in japan looking for a certain Gendo Takahashi. He is dead. No, i didnt kill him, someone got to him before me. It seems that whatever was stolen from the dome of the rock was only one of several fragments of something. All of my leads gave way to mr Takahashi, a brilliant historian. Well his apartment was made a mess, and he was killed in rather painful ways. I assume that he was tortured and left to die by massive bleeding. His notes were taken, but i believe that he left some clues of where to search for the next fragment. These are photos of things that were found either close to his body or under a rather heavy golden Buddha statue that apparently was not moved to search. I need to know what this next fragment might look like and a rather specific location. Hopefully we can get there before they do. I apologize for the bad email, i havent had much sleep and i am typing on the go. I corrected the list and got rid of the addresses that were outdated.

The line on the Japanese map is between Nagasaki on the left and Hiroshima on the right.

The little lines on the ink drawings near the top look significant - I wonder if we can find the originals and see what's been added.

Not sure what the X's are for either if they aren't from the originals.

The agent numbers on the "corrected" list are different. I donno about anyone else, but I went from being 41 to 120. Weird.

That explains the lack of activity from Takahashi on Facebook lately, he was offed. Think we should tell Pollina?

We do what we can...

The inset photo on the map is the torii at:
Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on Itsukushima Island in the city of Hatsukaichi (in the part that was formerly the town of Miyajima) in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan. Wiki

The small x's / crosshatches look like printer's alignment marks to me, used to register multi-color overlays. So, maybe the images overlay somehow?

Ink drawings are called sumi-e but I haven't had any luck finding our image(s) yet.

Pollina told me I was creepy (true Smile ) so I told her I wasn't her problem and that she should get ahold of Takahashi Twisted Evil (or take a lower profile). I expect to get blocked... Go be friendly!

ETA re:agent #s... Toasty and I still have our VITD #s, but shrtyscott3 is still different & space4rent still has 42 (scott's in VITD). Fish got moved, the 900 series was removed, no double #s, but johnnybmoto has two (48/49). Probably other stuff as well...

The other drawn lines looked to me like they needed to be overlaid with each other too. I doubt if they were part of the originals....
They look like they will form a (Japanese?) word.

From the look of some of the radicals written a little above the middle of each image, I think we'll definitely get some kanji when everything is overlayed. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to work on that at the moment. Neutral

Here is my attempt at (a) isolating the Japanese character strokes and (b) overlaying them - see what you think. I am no expert in Photoshop or anything - this was all done in Paint!

Nice one DC! I don't know why, but it looks back to front to me. Anyone know Japanese?

BTW I am now agent 119!

I am not involved here since I didn't get any mails, but I am a native Chinese speaker who also understands Japanese, so I thought I could pop in occasionally to translate stuff. Smile

I overlaid each layer on photoshop. You are right, it's definitely kanji. The image is mirrored and you will need to flip one (the dragon) for the strokes to fit.

So far, I can discern the characters:

天 and 沼

Meaning "Sky/Heaven" and "swamp" respectively. The third character looks like "矛", but with an extra stroke. I am trying to decide if said stroke is just part of the illustration.

Embarrassingly n00bish photoshopping ahead
