REAL WORLD: Newspaper and USPost contact in TX?

The following was posted on wishchasers yahoo group in the past 24 hrs:

Subject: [wishchasers] OT?: Weirdness In TX

On wednesday's our postal carrier places a small newspaper in our
mailboxes that tell us what is ahppening in the city the follow week
(along with all the food store adverts for the week). This upcoming
week on the 18th The Dallas Center for Contemporary Art (The
Contemporary) will host the Annual "WISH!" art auction and
exhibition.

Now what makes this weird is I called the number listed for
information and the phone number was wrong the 1st time and the
second call required me to enter a password (obviously wrong
again). So, What exactly IS happening? Is The Wish coming to DFW?
Has s/he already been here? Or will s/he be here on the 18th?

Anyway, this was way weird so I thought I would share it with ya'll.

(The REAL phone number for the Contemporary is 214-821-2522
according to the Neighborhood Shopper that I called to get
the "real" number from... I have lived here a long time and have
never heard of this annual auction!)

(I can promise that I don't want any wishes granted if Dale is an
idication of the result!)

Subject: [wishchasers] OT? OKAY NOW IT IS REALLY REALLY GETTING WEIRD!

Okay! This is getting weirder & weirder! Today I received an
envelope (without a return addy!) that contained a seed packet of
Foxglove!

(As has already been discussed: Foxglove -digitalis, fairy's
petticoat, fairy's cap - was believed in ancient times to be the
favorite plant of the fairy (or "good folk") and the spots on the
blossoms were said to be marks left by fairies' fingers. Another
legend has it that the fairies gave the blossoms to foxes to slip
over their toes and quiet their tread when raiding the henhouses,
hence the name fox glove).

The reason this is weird is because the fairy has SIX fingers as
does the hand at XCTW! (The sixth is called the "timble" finger).
Secondly I did not order these seeds nor do I know where they came
from!

Does anyone else have this weird stuff happening to ya'll?
(I also called about the "wish" art auction to get more info on the
artist(s) and learned one was currently "unavailable" but since I do
mental health medical billing with "delicate" questioning, the lady
on the phone "hinted" that the artist was in a mental health
facility!!!!

Please is anyone else experiencing this stuff in their neighborhood?
This is waaaay weirder than yesterday when I saw the planned auction
in the shopper!

so many seeds so many questions

very cool!!!

we were wondering in chat last night who she had given her address to? Did she give it to Wes if she sent asking for a bumper sticker? Assume, for a second, that someone in game did some research and found her address listed in some directory, who did she contact to trigger getting the seeds? It's so very cool but it just begs so many questions Smile Does anyone know who, in game, has her address? How about any meaningful contact with other ingame characters? Fran, are you around? Is it a cry for help? Is it encouragement? Does it even have anything to do with the people in Aglaura? With Dale? With Ash Grove Park?

Who is sending them? Why? What's it mean? Has anyone else gotten them? Can we even narrow it down or do we just have to play the waiting game?

curiouser and curiouser

I mentioned in an earlier post that I simply didn't "think" about
something like this being in game. The envelope has postal stamp
(though it does have a stamp!) so someone "put" it in my mailbox...
it simply had my name and address - I didn't even think to look for
a postal stamp till you mentioned it - sorry - I am learning though
and won't make the same mistake again Smile. The digital camera is
always in hubby's special ed. class so it would be next week (he is
on spring break) before I could take a pic and post in the files
(however I will describe everything about the package in a reply to
another post about it in a few minutes.) Again, sorry I have been
out of touch (B-Day celebration) and "left ya'll hanging" on this.

(We still don't know if it IS in game though so let's not jump the
gun just yet.... let's see if anyone else gets one too). I grow tons
of flowers and anyone who knows me could have decided to leave it)

wish! auction location has history of its own

i've looked into what i believe is the site of the dallas auction. it's got a pretty rich history. check out this page:

http://www.dallasartsrevue.com/ArtSpaces/D-Art/D-ArtRevisionism_i.shtml

seems the wish! auction isn't new, since it was held in 2002 as well, but i think we should still have someone check it out considering the juicy bits in frangraves' post about one of the artists being in a psychiatric institution... also, the exhibit is ongoing, so frangraves you should keep in mind you have until march 22nd to view the exhibit - you haven't missed it yet, like your post seemed to indicate.

details about the exhibit can be found at
