It won't accept my email address.

It looks like randomly generated hex.

There have been some email problems pop up- notably, if there's a dash/hyphen( - ) in the email address. And as far as hex- don't the couplets have to follow decimal alpha(1a) format? I see some alpha decimal couplets in at least mine. Chixor said the same thing, and it looks like chinga has at least one too.

It's a "packed" GUID, a 32 character, 256-bit unique value. Means nothing in and of itself.
Where do we use it, though?

Actually, I was leaning toward it being an MD5 hash of the email address.
But that's just me.
"randomly generated" was a misnomer.

Looks like anyone that has a period in the part of their email address preceding the commercial at (@) symbol is either out of luck or will have to use another email address. Let me know if they fix it.

Quick tip for gmail users - you can eliminate all dots in that part of your email address, and it will still get sent to you. You can also add as many dots as you like, which makes signing up for some websites multiple times ridiculously easy.
For example, I could go with agent.lex@gmail, or agentlex@gmail, or a.g.e.n.t.l.e.x@gmail, or a.gentle.x@gmail, or whatever.
