Not gonna lie, i think my LEAST fav scene was the close-up of clover. Sure, it's that scene where everyone is sitting their with their mouth open, and it gave me shivers; at the same time, it felt cheapened. It almost felt like the scene in most monster movies where dr. know-it-all pops up and tells the monsters, origin, weakness, blood type, and last known sexual encounter. Or the part in a cheap horror movie where something pops up because that's the only thing that will wake the audience up. All this mystery of what it looks like (even throughout the movie) and then suddenly...there it is. Focusing on the camera for 10 minutes. Way to kill the mystery.

Like in White Noise?

Aside from Hud getting chewed up, which is awesome, I think that the monster's part in the scene is a little silly, with its tubes going everywhere. It looks weird.

My favorite two action scenes is the one where the military attack Clover leading up to the first close up look at him and when the B2 is bombing Clover ending with him leaping through the smoke to attack the chopper.

My favorite lines are from Hud, especially with Marlena. From little things like him going around the party telling everyone Rob & Beth had sex (the funniest one being with Marlena, who clearly looked annoyed by him) to Beth's apartment building as he had funny lines throughout that section. Even behind the scenes, Hud and Marlena seem to have good chemistry.

i definitely agree with you, suckaH.

though i AM thankful that they only gave us a good view of its face. i mean, the actual anatomy of the thing was still pretty foggy even after seeing the film a bunch, save for what its face looked like, and the huge front arms.

they could've done a lot worse with the final scene of clover. i would've preferred maybe more of a fleeting glimpse of it, but thank god it was only what it was.

you guys seriously feel like the one good clear shot of Clover's face cheapens the movie?? That shit gave me some personal satisfaction man. Everyone was DYING to know what the hell the monster looked like for the 6 months leading up to the movie, n all the other shots were EXTREMELY brief and it was hard to get a good idea of what he looked like until people actually got a chance to analyze the scenes at home. So for me it blew me away completely to see Clover's face up close just one time, one completely still shot to just stare into the monsters eyes and just take it all in. I mean, to each his own i guess, and dont get me wrong, i totally agree that they did a great job with not giving us too much of the monster, as to make the whole experience more real and believeable, but if they woulda gave us any less of the monster, just kinda think that it woulda been too blair witchy for me to handle, since ive been dying to catch a glimpse of this sucker for months and months.

i'm supposing i should've said that i jointly agreed. i loved to see clover's face. i'm just glad that they didn't show much more.

it could have been a cheap scene, and been much more cheapened by showing more than they did. the fleeting glimpses of clover that we did get to see through the film weren't satisfying enough (though they could've been, when the DVD and pause-function was finally given), and i agree that showing the monster in its full glory at the end could have been a bad idea.

i'm just saying, i'm glad they did it like they did. we knew what its face looked like after that, but we still weren't able to go home and draw portraits of it, you know? we got puzzle pieces of what in the hell we were dealing with.

i love what they did. i think the overall idea of having some "final reveal" was rather anti-climactic.. but what the way they did it, they did it right.

cos in all honesty, we didn't see the MONSTER. we saw its face.

For about 15 seconds, actually.. and at this point it was the very end of the film, the ride was coming to an end, the announcement to keep our seats until the car comes to a stop were being said.. it was time to kill some of the mystery, to give us the cookie for being a good audience and give as a clear glimpse of the beast.

And even then, it wasn't too clear a look, between the smeared lens, the bad focus and less than optimal lighting, it still took the Hasbro toy description to send us back to the scene to see the second set of limbs!

Nope. Watched season 1 and 2 and lost interest shortly thereafter.

I actually would've enjoyed it if they showed less of the monster the entire movie, and then at the end show an extended shot of the whole thing. But not for nearly as long as they did. Like i said, i enjoyed seeing it, but the length of time the camera focused on the thing was painful.

No. Anyone who didn't see those limbs after that scene should've been declared legally blind. And the shot was very clear...just because the lens was a little dirty doesn't overlook the fact that we were seeing an extremely close-up shot of the monster in high-def.
