Oh well there isn't really a "direct" connection per say just yet. I remember some talk of haptic controllers awhile back in the forum when the video was released. Hackaday just covered haptic controllers. Thats all. Not Holomove controllers or anything Holo related.

Sorry for the confusion...

Ares I don't know if it has a direct connection to Holomove but it is cool. I understand your enthusiasm Smile

Agreed, it's cool. Just couldn't read your mind about the reason for posting it so I was just asking for clarification.

Thanks!

I realized something tonight:

The solve to the back-of-the-picture code contained a link to the D-Day Museum website: http://www.ddaymuseum.org/education/education_numbers.html

Applying "casualty list number two" to that site gave us the second part of the code key: thirtyeightmillionfivehundredseventythreethousandciviliansdied

Well, 38,573,000 is also contained in the link to randomknowledge's Digg webpage: http://digg.com/users/38573000

So I guess that was a clue that this was the right thing to use... back to your regularly-scheduled ARG now.

New ARGer

Hey gang, just wanted to announce my lurking. This is my first ARG and I stayed up last night and read every post in this forum. Lots of helpful tidbits.

Has anyone figured out where to log in with the password from the employment survey?

Thanks Very Happy

Hey you're pretty lucky - the first ARG I tried to lurk on was thehumanpet... I had to read through 106 pages. Took all night lol.

But no, we haven't found anything yet, though if you look on Dr. Gough's phone mssg thread, we're making a bit for progress there. Nice to have you here!

What is this ARG about?
Fringe? Microsoft? What is it?

Can somebody tell me what is this ARG about?
I tried to read all the posts but I have o time yet, Hope to read it this evening.

Is Holomove about Fringe, or maybe Microsoft?

Thanks.

Rowan has a great guide to Holomove that describes the plot a lot better than I could do. The more general Reference Guide should help guide your reading over the next few hours/days.

I think the current assumption is that Holomove is about Fringe -- it's definitely one of the Fox properties due to this post on the Fox blog. Fringe is likely because of this earlier post on the Fox blog.

EDIT: yeah, apparently my assumption was wrong. We're still guessing.

Fox Meta ARG?

Hey all,
n00b lurker here. just caught up on all the posts in this and related threads (so, obviously, i have a paper to write Rolling Eyes ). I found the game via Whedonesque.com, which gave a heads-up about it 5/23. Might be worth noting that there already exists a significant fanbase for Whedon/Dollhouse, fans who have been scouring the net for every possible leak of info about the show, and none of them have managed to draw a connection between Holomove/Dollhouse yet.
Plus, it looks like Dollhouse has launched its own ARG (just checked, and there's already a thread on unfiction about it, so maybe you all already know this).
It's possible they'll all connect. Fringe, Dollhouse, and SCC all depend not only on futuristic technology, but on a single prime corporate force using technology for evil, or at least self-serving, purposes. If I was a Fox Exec trying to make sure my geek-friendly base was tuning into all three shows, I'd consider putting in a little extra effort so that they all intertwine...which is probably easier in this case than in some others, because SCC involves time travel.

Eh, just a thought. In any case, thanks to all for kickin' ass and taking names. 'Specially because theyre encoded names, hidden in ciphered source codes of pictures of musical geographical coordinates. Seriously, I am in awe.
/n00b out.

IMHO that FOX blog post was just a way to lure ARG fans into watching their new shows with a tease that they might be related which I'll admit is a brilliant bit of marketing for free. I have yet to see any substantial links between any of the shows and holomove or that other suspect aladygma.
PEACE

IMO- JJ Abrahms is big on viral marketing. If this isn't the viral for Fringe, it's out there. However- this trailer for the show has popped up and the line "What if science could exceed our imagination?" really caught my eye. There are a handful of other trailers/spots for the show on Clipser, or for easier access, try this fan-blog. Looks pretty related to me.

ETA: I noticed in the trailer that the ailerons on the plane they're investigating are down, almost as if the pilot put it down hard on purpose. Probably nothing.

Like many, I was pulled here via Whedonesque. Luckily, I was already a member and can feign being ahead of the curve. Wink Though there's little chance that this is connected with Dollhouse, IMO, I can indeed see how it could be connected to Fringe. There has to be something out for Fringe, knowing that scoundrel JJ Abrahms, so there's still a possibility that this is lightly connected. Maybe it's a smaller sub-plot from a future episode? Or something that'll start small and grow big, like Blue Sun likely would have in Joss Whedon's Firefly? I'm feeling the monster corporation somehow having control other things vibe if this whole deal is related to Fringe. And if none of the above...it looks like big-budget fun, no matter what it's advertising.

I told myself I didn't have the time to scour through 50 pages (because, uh, summer vacation takes up tons of my time...?), but then I stumbled across Rowan's guide. Now I have no excuse to at least try to hop in here! I'm no good at puzzles or code-like things, so I'm probably useless, but I'm here for moral support.

Whew, just when I was on the edge of a total breakdown too...

Don't worry, I suck at puzzles and such too, but there's always some way to help. Even just another point of view on a particularly hard puzzle could help crack it. Just saying your mind can help. If you want to be a part of this, well, Welcome to Holomove!
