[SOLVED] E-mail Aug 11, 2004 from secrets@dreadhouse.com

I got this message from JC

Subject : Random Obsessive Thoughts #13

Some people insist on holding beliefs that seem unreal. My goal is to shake the beliefs so many hold dear. You are sure to be disturbed by what is revealed. I hope you are ready to continue. .

I think there's probably something encoded in this, but I haven't figured it out yet. What do you guys think?

Stormalong solved this in the Interaction thread:

Got it!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Take every 13th letter from the email, then ROT-13 that. You get "foryourhelp". Which leads you to http://www.dreadhouse.com/foryourhelp.html

Another memo. Using the same password method as before, we assume the encoded password is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

insania

(First letter of every word after 'you')

But what for?

The Memo

Just for completeness sakes, here is the memo.

In Latin, the new password means:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
madness, insanity, unsoundness of mind.

The latin at the bottom of the memo means "The appearances
of things are deceptive."

Good one Stormalong Smile I'm dumb, I did this and somehow didn't get the right answer!

SPEC:

Well looks like Mr. Rowan was hiding some files from who?....
And it seems to me like Richard Meyer is the villain of this story...
I'm surpised that a personal assistant(almost a secretary) would be giving orders to someone in the IS department.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
insania
on srf0001.exe to see if I got anymore files, but it didn't work.

just as an observation on the latin

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
insania -ae f. [madness , frenzy, senseless excess, extravagance; poetical rapture or inspiration].

it's madness AND poetic inspiration - ann starling was a poet inspired by madness..

I said this on another thread so trout me if you want, but maybe we shouldn't be so quick to think that this is solved. If the Latin text is to believed, maybe this one is different from the other memo. Just my thoughts. Don't know if there's any merit to them.

I Insist

I haven't looked at it enough to find an answer that's sensible, but the subject reference "I insist" and the phrasing of the letter lead me to wonder if that something extra mentioned above isn't related or findable along that route.
