Gone gone gone. January 22, 2008 • No Comments
Manhattan air. Somehow, it's not as bad you start to believe it is. And how you can you not love breathing magic?

Alright, the Skeleton Key offices at 401 and in Jersey are closed up. No forwarding address or anything and both have been re-rented (by a lawyer and a doctor respectively).

So now what?

Pathfinding:

Look for members of the crew (Veronica, Jet, Arkham)
Contact family (Search Hawkins in NYC/Boston and everywhere in between)
Contact 48HiP subjects (this one will be tough)
I'll start there, I guess and see where that brings me.

**Edit, 10pm

I found a cell number for Brody and called. Seems to be in service, but the machine "space" after the beep is weird and flat, if that makes any sense. Like speaking into a void. Anyway, maybe this will go easier than I thought and I'll get a call back from Brody himself.

Progress. January 24, 2008 • No Comments
Well, I wish I had more to report, but I did manage to touch base with someone who part of the 48HiP street team. They said some of them had been in touch with the film crew as recently as Christmas.

Now to hunt them down, I guess.

New Leads February 1, 2008 • No Comments
Ok, I have some leads. I have another project winging me to San Diego for a few weeks and then I'll be able to follow these up:

Veronica is from Montreal and I think I've found her family. Time to sift the phone numbers. That might take a while.
Jet is in NYC working with another film crew. They're Japan right now shooting something, so I'll try to catch up with him when they get back.
No hot tips on the other two… yet.
Brody's hometown is Ambrosia, Mass., but I'm having no luck mapping to it. I'll dig into it more when I get back.
I don't know why, but I'm definitely growing some mad obsession for this project. I think it might help me make a real splash as self-made film business-gal-chick-dudette.

I got a copy of the film! February 19, 2008 • No Comments
Ok, just got home. The biggest news is I got a copy of the film in the mail while I was gone. I had sent a request to the agency repping Brody and co. for a press copy for review.

I'm going to watch and re-watch. Build the obsession!

Fruitful week. February 27, 2008 • No Comments
Well, I touched base with Jet. He seems pretty interested in talking with me. It was a brief conversation, but when he gets home (in March, gah) we're going to meet up and talk.

Here's hoping it goes ok.

I also tracked down Veronica's parents, but as soon as I mentioned looking for info on Veronica and Brody, she hung up on me. They haven't answered any further phone calls, so we'll call that a dead end for now.

Nothing on Arkham or the subjects, yet. But I have all their names now and they're all in Canada, though one of them is from - get this - Ambrosia!

Alright. Buckling down. I'm in post on my other project, but I'll get back to this when we wrap. Multi-tasking is killing me!

Edit:

Tagged for searching. Glad I started that now!

Jet is in town! March 2, 2008 • No Comments
Alright, Jet (Jagt, but I haven't got a clue how to say that) is in town. We're meeting up this week coming, probably Tuesday.

This could be big!

In more personal news, singleness is starting to suck. When our film wraps prod., I'm going to seriously think about life choices.

Work isn't life. Well, a little…

Alright. I'm done sulking. That wasn't so bad, Jar, gimme a break!

Postponed. March 4, 2008 • No Comments
Well, the meeting is postponed. That's ok, not like I don't have a real job to do.

But I just keep thinking there's something very odd happening here.

I had thought, flight of fancy I suppose, that time distortions could be triggered by traumatic events.

Eek. My alarm. Anyway, let's explore that thought later. Time for some reality.

Something weird. March 6, 2008 • No Comments
I just found all these "search for Brody" videos. Some of them have pictures of some guy that I'm SURE isn't Brody in them.

In a brief chat with Jet he made some mumblefood comment about Brody wanting to disappear, "like before". I think, somehow, Brody has messed with these bandwagoners who have never met him.

Hm. I'll have to think this all through.

I also found something weird when I went back to the Jersey office to ask the new tenants some questions (which was pointless).

There was a piece of graffiti on the wall, which looked "invited" that said "Thanks Flagg" and was tagged by some NYC street artist group.

I wanted to take a picture, but they had security cameras everywhere.

Anyway, I'm going to do some mad googling tonight. Seems there's a lot to know yet. And I need some PIZZA! Purely for research, though.

Sometimes… March 9, 2008 • No Comments
A knock at the door or a phone call can change your life.

Today was one of those kinds of days.

I made contact with one of the subjects from the film. He was oblivious to it's success, but told me all about the positive effect filming of it had on him. He's in a relationship, happy with his life and no longer a recluse, and he attributes it to Brody. Now I find myself doubting my judgments about Mr. Hawkins.

But I'm exhausted. More on this after some sleep.

The Professor's story is pretty incredible. I won't spoil it, but wow. He might be a bit of a loon, but he seems very articulate and peaceful for a nutjob. So I sort of want to believe his ghost story.

Jet is able to meet with me next week. I'll have to bide my time, chewing my nails to be quick. I've got a line on Arkham (what's with these guy's names??) and I might shoot back to Cali and hunt him down.

I might have a backer for this project, would be a big help. Still talking with him, but hopefully it works out.

In other news, boy trouble. What else is new? I guess relationships suffer at the hands of this career, but weighing passions in torturous.

Update

Kristin discovered the purgatorium forum today and password protected her blog shortly thereafter. Here's the last entry she posted:

Lost and Found March 17, 2008 • No Comments

I did it. I hopped a plane to California and found Arkham. It didn't go well. He was hanging out in a restaurant with a redhead and he was on the move as soon as he saw my camera. Stupid. I should have been more careful.
Anyway, I caught up to them, but he took a shot at me and that was unnerving enough to make me freeze up. When I started off again, I couldn't find them.
So no answers there, but I think the footage speaks volumes.
In weirder news, I've come across some really odd things online. Somehow Brody or someone else has orchestrated some kind of online game or something. So we've got what looks like a filmmaker in hiding working overtime to convince everyone he's a fictional character in a movie or something.
I guess I'll have to give points for ingenuity, anyway.
I'm meeting with Jet on Thursday, barring any complications. I have a feeling this is going to be big.
If I could just get Brody on the phone, though… that would be bigger.

Updates

Trawna. April 11, 2008
Why do they talk like this?

Anyway, here I am. It's actually not that bad here.
I've got a few leads and a DIRT cheap hotel room.

I've got contact numbers for the prostitute and the blond guy so far. At least I hope they work out.
Fingers and legs crossed.

I miss the big stink a bit though… ah well.

Motion. March 27, 2008
With my meeting w/ Jet being postponed again, I decided to dig around on the subjects and most of them are in Toronto, Canada. At least I think so.
I think I'll go look for them. These subjects have been WAY harder to track down than I expected. Maybe just showing up in their areas and digging will be more fruitful. I'll try to get an on-camera with James while I'm there.

I've been really struggling with a sense of being watched too. Big city paranoia, I guess.

[UPDATE] Lucky se7en April 19, 2008 • No Comments

Well, I've had some luck setting up a string of interviews. Good stuff. Costly stuff. Seems maybe the outcomes aren't as bad as the film made it seem they would be. Could just be the way the film was cut.

Still, there's an overarching theme that the interviewer (Brody) is a bastard. Hard to be liked making cartoon movies, let alone this kind of stuff. I guess so, anyway.

Anyway, estimations based on brief phone calls and emails aside, Wallace has been impossible to track down so far and Mark keeps putting me off. Maybe he and Jet are in cahoots, lol.

Anyway, back to work.

Yeah, she's been in touch with me. I'm going to let her at it, I've moved on to another company. Need to bury the past. I hope.
I'm pretty reluctant to hand over the tapes and everything, somehow.
I think she's in Canada hunting the subjects down. I hope she's being careful. My conscience is weighed down enough.

Thanks for your concern, Amandel. Keep in touch.

UPDATE :Well, today's the day! April 28, 2008
I'm connecting with Mark, the self-injury guy. Took forever to set this up. One last interview and I'm back to New York!

You're mine, Hawkins! lol

Kristin is being held captive and tortured

When Kristin arrived for the above-mentioned meeting with Mark AKA Dr. Patient, she discovered that he had a very different agenda in mind. He is holding her captive in or near Simcoe, Ontario, CA, and is using her as a subject of his twisted Live Psych Experiment. If we, the control group, fail at the tasks "Doc" gives us, he has said she will die.

Please help us save Kristin, called BEX by the Doc, at http://www.hurtstoheal.com

I have seen it from the inside.

1. Roman Catholic Church A state in which the souls of those who have died in grace must expiate their sins.
2. A place or condition of suffering, expiation, or remorse: a purgatory of drug abuse.
adj.
Tending to cleanse or purge.
