heh I don't think there's much to worry about. The blog's been pretty self-contained, not a lot of interaction, if at all... AFAIK, read up on the blog and you're caught up

yeah, and it was quite possibly one of the worst acted, and most poorly executed tv movies that i have ever seen. sweet christ. that was horrible. revelations every five minutes! jesus. and the death scene in the giant shaft? the worst of the worst. andromeda strain was an awesome book, this was a travestry.

"andromeda loves cheezeburgers, but apparently hates mayonnaise!"

"does that mean in the future, we run out of mayonnaise and andromeda's weakness is mayonnaise?"

"i want to say 'andromeda', too!"

"well, i can beat you. 'andromeda andromeda andromeda'."

"wait! about the mayonnaise..."

"i'm korean! i dont' know about mayonnaise! but i found an image on a mayonnaise packet that might be the key... some red-haired girl named 'wendy'... damn you andromeda...."

"guys, let's get serious!"

"andromeda! andromeda! HA! you're having a seizure, i win!"

"shit... i guess i'll make out with that milf from the 'drew carey show' and 'scrubs'. she was way hotter on 'scrubs'."

"what about mayonnaise?"

"no, not mayonnaise, 'andromeda'."

"what about mustard?"

"OOG."

" Trout "

seriously awful. my goal is to now drink beer until i puke.

Opinions vary, as do expectations. I'm sorry you did not enjoy the movie as much as I did -- and I do speak from having read the book (decades ago) and seen the original movie as well. I liked the actors, the chilling visuals, the updated technology, etc. Compared to some other natural disaster made-for-TV mini-series, this was much less cheesy than most. (Faint praise? It's entertainment.)

oh, absolutely! i completely agree with you. i guess i was expecting more. i had read the book probably a few months ago, and LOVED it. and after seeing the original movie, i was all about it.

it gets some definite praise, but i was just left extremely underwhelmed. it seems that book-to-film transitions these days aren't as well thought out as they used to be. events occur so fast and jittery, that it ends up feeling corny and episodic. i enjoyed the first part of it, but last night, my jaw hit the floor. to me, it was like watching spider-man 2, and then watching spider-man 3 the next night. (again, opinions differ, but i thought spider-man 3 was crap!)

and i was grade-a drunk-posting last night as well Very Happy

So awesome in fact that it completely changes the way you determine the binary of a decimal number! I'm just glad I didn't go with my first instinct and buy the book from the bookstore. Hooray for libraries! But I now know that my original opinion of Crichton from reading The Lost World still stands.
