 		the blue eyes has to do with "designer babies" the supposed ideal is blond hair blue eyes. so of course their displays would have blue eyes.

Now I will say I do have a degree and experience with biochem and molecular genetic research, although it has been a couple years since I have done anything related to molecular biology and genetics, so let's see if I can fake my character's way through this.

There's 2 parts to encryption, generally: a key and the encryption software. The software uses the key to uniquely encrypt a piece of information (eg an email), so a unique key is needed to make sure it's not easily cracked. Conversely, a key on its own will do nothing, it's essentially a sequence of bits that waits for the software to come and use it.

To make a bad analogy, the key is a sports field and the software is the team - neither can do much without the other.

I've decided to take a look at the other clues in the package and see if they're of any use.
The DSN thing on the back of the card has me stumped but I guess it could have something to do with Database connections? Found it here.
Sekhmet is an Egyptian Sun Godess. Found that here

Hm. I tried the download but didn't get that page. Also, this is the second time BCN has come up. (It's also their newsfeed?) I tried tracking it down but no luck.
