ok, jubilus got my thinking, 1+2=3 what if the words in japanese or english for bicycle and entrance ar an anagram for the 3rd word? i dont know japanese except for asking for a peach condom(true story) so maybe someone can try to decipher it and see. maybe a 9 letter word?

"your question is beginning to look more like the answer" kokonotsu is 9 letters.

Um, I'm new hoping to get into this.

The comments about teh smudge on the clock face and the smudge on the column in teh bicycle picture DO in fact look the same. I counted the smudges, looked how they were arranged... and they match, or at least appear to do so.
So, uh, when I try to get into this, and I hope it's still going, uh, yah. I hope I can help! I do have a friend on a forum I haven't visited in a while, who lives in Japan, and knows Japanese. Maybe I can help there? Just wondering.

So, it's one key word missing.

I can't stop thinking about the last image text where it's said "I'm the key" and before that he says "I'm the Qu13e now" - I can't figure out if this is really important I'm just spec a bit. If HE IS THE KEY maybe HE is another word of the three word key; or maybe is Qu13e (though its too obvious).
Something related to the name: why the name of the main site is QuIXe? Why does it change? I don't know but this difference in the name has to mean something...

the third missing word has to be in japanese? Yes, ok

sorry if trout or im telling nothing, I am very intrigued and this forum seems a bit quiet!!

Well... I'm new to this, but I wish I knew where exactly we are in teh puzzle. However, your mention of QuIXe reminded me of the hand picture, where it has IX on the palm, II on the ring finger, and a 4 (i think, it's pretty fancy looking). Bugs the hell out of me. And what was up with the =I62 or whatever is between the ring and pinkie finger?
If I knew where we were I could decide if it was all relevant or not. If someone is willing to help me catch up (im in way over my head trying to figure it out, the wiki isn't too helpful) then maybe I could add some insight into the whole thing. OR at least get my head on right, lol.
I think it fell off somewhere around the fifth image or so.

EDIT: Nah, I think I'm not going to get involved in this now, as it's a little late to get into it, if not over. Plus, I got another one I'm involved in right now, some white island arg, it think is the name.

I have "updated" the wiki, specifically the to do list and added the interaction section.

Hopefully it will help to have all the information in one place.

I know the Tried and failed list is not complete so please add to it if you see something missing.

Where did you get these words/clues, and where should I look for for the third word? Just curious.
Course, I don't know Japanese, if we're looking for a Japanese word... hrm.

The origin of the keywords and clues are all documented in this thread starting at about page 8.

Looking at this again I have to go back to that damn "face". The bottom image contains the word "entrance" on the pillar in front of the "bicycle", with a sign reading caution/pay attention and an arrow pointing to the face.
What does it mean? Could the face itself be a Japaneses letter/word?

I'd try it, at any rate, to see if it is. It has to be important then, if that sign on the pillar is pointing up at it. Maybe it has something to do with "time"? Since it was on a clock and all, to begin with. I dunno, I'm just speculating.

delusional, maybe the face isn't a face, but traditional face paint representing our answer or maybe its a word in Japanese calligraphy, resembling a face. also, i did a google search and accidently typed qui3e(or 13e, i'm such a scatter brain i forget, the opposite of the site!), and the first link was to a page for a myspace type site for a user joy Q<QU13E>, with no friends comments and 2 tests to see if you know her, the test hasnt been takin at all, this is probably nothing but if someone has a bobo (i think) acount try it out.ummm thats all for now, back to the headache medicine

Sent this email...

A bit of research tells me that Bicycle Entrances are not uncommon in japan as a path to Subway/Train stations.

I may require a transfer to get to my final destination but perhaps you can tell me if this route is a good start.... or If I should just take a cab.

and received this....

An interesting observation.

Maybe that's why the answer reminds me of...a subway ticket?

Maybe...causing confusion was his specialty.

1+2=3

Wow guys long time no post let's get back in the game here.

We have two of the three words needed and I think I get what melpomene means when she says 1+2 is 3.

For the record I have been playing this ARG for a month or so now so I'm relatively caught up on everything going on.

Our little buddy Mel has given us all the clues we need for the third word.

First she/he/it says 1+2 is 3.

Well that seems easy to me, entrance+bicycle= the third word, or so thats my assumption, if that's not the case its page related or it could even be the whole nine letter theory I don't know. Everyone in the game is trying to throw us off, EVERYONE, so we really can't trust anyone.

My second theory I guess you could call it is the infamous quote "if you cant find the answers from the clues try finding the clues from the answers" that only leads me to believe that everything she is telling us we have to analyze more and more and we'll get the things we are looking for for the third word. either that or it's hidden in the quotes under the pictures on the qu3e page.

and lastlyyyyyyyyy "Kokonotsu [ nine ] is not, sorry (but your questions are beginning to look more like the answer) " is the last word going to be nine letters? who knows but the japanese have a tendency of taking two words and smashing them together to make one word instead of two seperate ones, so maybe if we take bike and entrance and smash it together in japanese form we'll get a nine letter answer or something.

Anyway those are my theories, scrutinize at your will. Very Happy

Edit: I just realized the whole subway ticket thing, people need tickets when they walk into a subway to get into a subway, to people on bikes need things like parking tickets or a special ticket because they have bikes, because if so that could be our key.... She did say 1+2=3. so subway entrance+ bike= the key.. just throwing it out thereeeeeeee

the only thing that works is "jiguchi" (= pun, play on words). at least that's the only one i could find. the relation to qu13e is quite obvious as the characters often make use of wordplays. yet jiguchi is not a nine letter word Confused

interesting at least, I wonder if there are any more japanese words that have kokonotsu in them, I was only able to find the one.

UPDATE: So apparently there is this puzzle that's described as "Sudoku for smarties" called kokonotsu. It's pretty much the same as sudoku except it has a couple extra lines you have to watch out for. I wonder if there is some mad kokonotsu puzzle hidden within all these sets of nine...
