PMs needed for an ARG/Book
You 'might' get paid for working

Hello, my name is Silent.

This is inspired partially by the numerous calls for "proft-driven ARGs", or grassroots ARGs that can manage to make a profit in addition to entertaining. And then I remember Cathy's Book, what I will term an ARG/Book. It is a book that you purcahse, and in that book, you gain swag and data that will allow you to play the ARG, as well as read the book. They both are interrelated. ARG/Books are also replayable.

So, it got me thinking. Can ARG/Books work? As an experiment, I'm willing to write an ARG/Book with the help of other Puppet Masters. I can tell you a summary of the plot, altough, in order to pike your interest, I will mention that the ARG/Book will concern Major Conspiracies...all 600 of them.

PM me or post here if you are interested. I will be forced to use "Lulu"...only due to the low demand I expect from this ARG/Book.

I'm interested. I await a summary, and then we can negotiate.

um..

Why do you have to experiment on something that's already been proven to work (Cathy's Book)?

Beyond that remember that if you're trying for a good profit scenario you still have to include your labor into the process. If you're already not planning much demand for the book, then you've already set your experiment up for failure.

Can it be repeated? Or is Cathy's Book series a one-hit wonder?

More to the point, is there a simple way to sell ARGs to other people? That's what I want to check.

And, yes, I'm going to stick with the fact that there is going to be low demand. I'm expecting that the only people who will buy the book is the same group of people that frequents Unfiction. That's the only realistic expection I have of the gerne, and I can't expect it to broaden anytime soon.

However, you do got a great point. If I hire more workers, that will cut into profit...making it even less 'good'. Er. I have to think.

I never said it couldn't be repeated - actually I think it should be repeated as it's a wonderful way to approach writing a novel. What I asked was how is it an experiment to see if that concept would work when that concept has already shown it could work.

I've been trying to convince some friends that are published or looking to be published science fiction writers that ARGs are a good idea.

It's one of the reasons I did LGL: as a "proof of concept" to express a story.
