Possible Future Contact With Sherrif Prufrock

Posting this because I got an email response back from the mayor out of the blue. By that, I mean that I had sent an email about the day after this started saying I wanted to get in touch with the Prufrocks to catch up with old buddies. Had forgotten all about it, when he suddenly responded. Don't know if he's just catching up or if they are finally going to provide actual contact with the police. Has anyone else gotten anything similar?

------
Mayor Dobbs,

I'm going to be in town in a few days. Flying in from out west going
through Philly. I'm stopping by to see my old buddy Jimbo Prufrock. Haven't been in touch with him since he and Dawn got themselves hitched and moved east. Jimbo and I worked on cleaning up a mess out here in Nevada. Don't know if it made the news back east.

I've been trying to make contact with them and I've had no luck.
They got hemselves one of those unpublished numbers it seems. Tried to send an email to your sheriff to let her know I'd be stopping by, but the dang things keep getting bounced back. You might want to let you webmaster know there's problems with the email server.

Anyway, if you can let them know, I'd appreciate it. Going to be in town the weekend of the 8th. Better yet, if you can provide a way to contact
them, be much obliged.

Anyway, since I'll be going through Philly, figured I'd bring you a box of
Krispy Kremes for your trouble. Seeing how you don't got them around
there. What's your favorite flavor?

Looking forward to hearing from you and to catching up with some old
friends.

Nick D. (P.I.)

Dear Mr. Danger

By all means, you will be welcome to visit us here in Aglaura. However, I
cannot give out privatized information about our residents. I've found
there's often very good reason for certain residents to maintain their personal address and telephone data unlisted - I do it myself, in fact.

I'm afraid I don't know the Prufrocks personally, but what I will do is have
our receptionist look up the information we may have and assuming she
finds a phone # or address, I will have her forward on your message to them. That way at least, the Prufrocks can respond to you if they choose.

I hope this will meet your needs, and that as a PI you understand that
I cannot potentially jeopardize a resident's privcay.

Pat Dobbs
Mayor, Aglaura, NJ

P.S. - Boston Cream donuts are my favorites, although KK's plain glazed
are far superior to any other type they make.

----------
Mayor Dobbs,

Thank you so much for responding. I certainly would appreciate any information your receptionist may have. I also agree that this should be given out only with the Prufrock's consent.

Having made a similar mistake once in the past, I know how unsettling it can be on people to have a PI show up on their doorstep unexpectedly.

Nick Danger
------

If I get any means of direct contact, I'll be sure to post.

It's strange that it wasn't mentioned that the Prufrock in question isn't Jim, but Al. I guess Pat Dobbs really doesn't know them personally. See reply from Lorraine Tweed at:

Dear Nick:
I'm not sure why you are confused but Sheriff Prufock's husband is named Al,
not Jim.
Thanks for your interest in Aglaura.

Mayor of Aglaura NJ

I remember that; and I remember that Fran speced that maybe Jimbo was using his middle name now.

But since you mentioned it, I find it very hard to believe that in such a small town the mayor would not know the chief of police personally. The mayor presides over the council meetings and I'm sure the chief would have to report to the council (at least they do in the small town that I live in). And believe me, there are NO secrets in a small town. Especially if you are in any position of note.
