Here's a 1 minute backstory:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There's this island that's ridiculous. Some scientists wanted to study it. Then the natives of the island killed all the scientists. Later, this plane crashes on the island with a bunch of people on it, who all have like a million connections to each other, but don't know it. A few die. The natives who killed the scientists try to manipulate them. Then this freighter comes that's supposed to save everyone. But it's actually there to kill all of them. 4 8 15 16 23 42.

SIDE NOTES: Polar bears, time travel is possible, some guy named Jacob, crazy smoke monster, etc.

that video is amazing!! Very Happy the only problem is that it leaves off at the end of season three and doesn't take into account what happened in season 4. overall, though, i fully recommend that video to anyone who hasn't fully watched LOST, but wants to know the basic story.

But not to someone who plans on watching the show. I watched half of that video a while back and decided to watch the show all the way through. I regret watching it (youtube, not the show) now.

I'd think that would be kind of a given. Don't watch a recap of something you actually want to watch.[/i]

Hello all!
I signed up here to play the new Lost ARG. I signed up with OGR during the finale. This will be my first ARG. But it seems like my instincts are right because I was checking source codes and running letters through anagram checkers minutes after the finale ended. I'm excited and looking forward to the launch of game (although I see some people have been working on finding hints to clues already!)
I hope this isn't too hard for a newbie, but I'll be following along even when I can't figure out the clues myself.
I'm looking forward to this a lot.
Thanks...

You do realize that Cloverfield is not over right?

They're just stringing us along. We haven't had any REAL updates since the picture of Teddy was posted on the 1-18-08 site, and with JJ saying he's in no rush to make a Cloverfield 2...yeah, the ARE may never truly end, but if it means they're just going to keep dropping one vague clue every 4 months, consider me out.

Never played ARGs before, and regreted knowing aboutt the first Lost Exprience only after it was finished... Same goes for Find815 (although this' not technically an ARG). So this's gonna be my first one... As goot to start as any one, I think; I'm in!

Hi to all the new folks! If anyone's lost about Lost, I'll be happy to help as well.

So has anyone received a response from Octagon yet? I know most are expecting this all to kick off during the con, but I just wanted to be sure. Also, really hoping we can be part of this without attending. If not, I'm gonna be bummed out. Sad

So, because somehow on Unfiction we're able to fill up 8 pages of talk for a game that consists of one video and an e-mail sign up and has had no updates, mind if I ask a question related to the game? Smile

The producers have said that the information from TLE was all cannon to the Lost universe (and F815 was assumed to be, as it was mentioned in the television show), so I guess we can only assume that this game will be cannon too. So my question rises from the fact that, in 2008, the Dharma initiative is still recruiting (2008 based on the press release).

NOTE: S3 and S4 spoilers
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Currently, during the "current time" on the show, it is 2004, and speculatively, some of the "flash-forward" events could theoretically be extended out to 2008, but there's no known dates for many (Source: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Timeline:Post-Island)

NOTE: S2 and S3 spoilers
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Secondly, why would the Dharma initiative still be continuing experiments? We know we've had the supply-drop, but after "Enter 77", can't we assume that they know that their project has been hijacked? Or are they still unaware, and that accounts for the supply drop?

Just some thoughts.

Well, remember that what was posted above in this thread was not "the entirety of the games is canon". It was more complicated. For example, it would appear that the Alvar Hanso film explaining the Dharma Initiative is providing canon information, but all the Rachel Blake stuff is more questionable, since she lived in a world where Lost was a TV show, and that part certainly is not canon.

Also remember that specific details in Find 815 didn't actually line up with what we saw in the show itself (the details of the discovery of the wreckage, for example). So it's not entirely obvious which parts of Find 815 should be considered canon either.

So, the fact that right now we have allegedly have Dharma gathering new volunteers doesn't necesarily mean anything for the show either.
