it's like people these days can't make films out of books anymore. look at the shining with jack nicholson. BRILLIANT! they chose what to skip over, and why, and it came out as a movie that you could grasp without having to be a fan of the novel.

and then you have this shit these days, where they try to pack everything in, and it all ends up being so episodic and cheesy seeming. like, they discover something new EVERY FIVE MINUTES!

sadly enough, i've been a big fan of the harry potter novels (save for the last one...). i know that sounds like i'm coming-out, but seriously. i've tried to watch the movies, and it's just so... i dunno. lame.

Stephen King hated The Shining. Hated it so much he had his name taken from it and then remade it on ...DUN DUN DUN... The Sci-Fi Channel.

I can't wait until Aztec Rex comes out.

wow, i didn't know that. having read that book probably ten times, i thought the kubrick film was an awesome representation of the story. sure, it left shit out, but it kept everything there to keep the main story cohesive.

haha, that's amazing though, i really didn't know that.

oh well, opinions are like assholes. everyone has one, and every one stinks.

The Shining is an excellent movie, primarily on Nicholson's performance. But King didn't think it did his book justice (and this from a man who is used to his movie adaptions being as similar to the book as most James Bond films to thier sources*).

The Mini-series on SciFi was very good, more of a thriller than the heart stopper the movie was I think. King himself wrote the teleplay.

*Most bond movies are written completely for the movies, only using the title and possibly a name, location, or single plot idea from the short shory or novel they are named after.

Yeah, I never watched King's Sci-Fi version of the Shining, but it just seemed like it was shit. Although most people hate movies made out of SK's books, I find them quite enjoyable. I fucking loved The Mist, as well as Dreamcatcher. They didn't do the books any justice, but I really enjoy Thomas Jane.

I am Legend was such a huge fucking disappoinment. It was so bad, im boycotting his next movie "HandCock" just based on principal alone.

And as for "Indiana Jones and the Down Syndrome Sidekick" goes, I think that Harrison Ford shoulda just made a sequel for "Reguarding Henry" and called it a day. He shines the most when he plays a retard.

spade's got jokes Very Happy Very Happy LMAO

"i am legend" was dissapointing. i was impressed with will smith's performance, but was impressed with little else. the decision to make everything in the film cheesy CGI creatures was a bad one. you can't make realistic CGI people. at least when they're front-and-center.

it was like the "ring two". i loved the first one (flame me, i knew not shit about it until i saw it, i hadn't even heard of it), but when i saw the second one, in the scene with the shiny deer, i threw my 5-gallon soda cup at the 350-pound guy next to me snorting nachos.

Well, I try to think of it this way. With Indiana Jones, I will have to pretend only ONE sequel never existed from now on.

Easier to do, compared to SW or the Matrix.

It was way too, "Hey Look, We're almost successful" Commies show up. "Aw..." Rinse Repeat. At least the Nazi's managed to fail time to time. "Where'd they go?" "Dunno, oh there they are...darn...got away for the next 30 minutes..."
