Just having a play so far - getting the mic and software sorted. I've recorded a little test-intro to the first part of the Story So Far... here's a taste of where I'm trying to go with this:
All I have to say is...
Woooow!!
Agreed! Do more do more do more ! I love the tone of it, and the sound quality is great.

Haha, that's GREAT Mr. J!
How would a multiperson podcast work in that case though? Would we switch off? Or would we have 2 parts to each podcast? Because of course I want to help

@Mr. Judkins: Fantastic intro!
We could switch off, or do different parts, whatever we want. My voice isn't the best but I would like to help in that area And scriptwriting of course. What method is the best for moving audio files around the internet, since eventually they will need to get to me to publish?

Usually 4Shared works fine for me. I guess the size limit is 50MB per file.
There's MediaFire too, but i can't remember the limit.

I checked out MediaFire's site, and their limit is 100 MB per file with an unlimited number of files.

for just moving files use SendIt.
it has a 1gb limit a month and 100mb file size

as for multiperson, u can useskype confence calls across multiple countries. this can then be recorded using the built in skype podcast feature. or u just all say your part and edit it together

Okay - having discussed the podcast idea with Dav, I've been working on a "quick summary" recording - and he suggests that he and Hikaro will head up a team to record the whole story so far in chapters.
I've been working on the latter, and here is a new taster - a first audio-draft of the first 2 minutes. Any feedback would be very welcome! I'm trying to include only what is necessary...
Here you go!

1st Draft of the first 2 minutes of a Quick Summary podcast.

I agree - it really is time I started working on annunciation again... my grandfather would not be impressed.
Also - I think that the recording above is going in the wrong direction. The set of podcasts that are not specifically telling the whole story shouldn't even try to summarise it as such. Talking with _june, we think a better alternative will be to do short podcasts answering specific questions. ie:
* how did this begin?
* what is the omphaputer?
* multiverse? WTF?
* What is this Labyrinth Training thing?
etc
By not being too concerned about reporting the facts, it can be more storytelling-based and perhaps a bit more compelling to listen to!
What do people reckon? A audio-book style FAQ to compliment the story-so-far podcasts that Dav and Hikaro are working on? What questions have people been getting the most from others? If anyone is interested in scripting answers to any of them, I'm happy to organize some recording (with a bit more annunciation...).

As a help, you could use the mini-codex : http://forums.findthelostring.com/message/5165

I like the idea of short podcasts answering specific questions.
I remember that I had problems understanding what the codex where about when I got into this (and it was just a week old!) so, that could be one of the topics.
What did you have problems with when you started playing this game,people?

Hi MauroKing:
My problems still are to figure out what is going on where. Most posts here reference events/blog entries/videos I do not happen to know firsthand; I only go looking for them if something comes up that I completely do no understand. (For example: was that James interrogaion video over after the papers got blown by the wind? Where is the rest?)
I admit that since so much is happening in this forum, I rarely do look on Ariadne's blog (only last week just realized the RSS feed) or Eli's site.
What I would find particularly interesting would be weekly digests of what is going on in _every language community_:
- What events took place?
- How were certain missions solved?
- What are the missions/tasks still to be solved? (Like: what is with the PanCosmologizer and what is needed to be found out?)
- Are some people in Asia also joining TheO?
(meta) If someone could just tap the PM's community researcher's reports, we would have most of that information (/meta)

Have you taken a look at the Wiki? We have a getting started guide, have all the data collected so far, and even have a timeline for catching up on what's happening as it happens...
