Nope. Three problems with that theory.

1) Hud gets chomped in Clover's mouth. Kishin gets sucked in via the feeders.

2) On the DVD, if you slow-mo, you can see that Hud gets bitten in half and not consumed.

3) It's evident now that J-Clover was driven by the memories contained in the Pod. As the Pod doesn't figure in to the movie as far as we know, there's no reason for Clover Prime to head for the ocean after chomping Hud.

Oh, and I'd just like to state once more now that the final translation is out that I stand by my original theory. J-Clover, driven by the despair and memories of "mom" that came from the Pod, death dived into the ocean to be with the vine (his "parent"). The pressure, not any sort of biological change, crushed him against the pod he was embracing. As the "camera" pulls away, you can still see his form squished out around the pod like Silly Putty smooshed around the plastic egg it comes in. No absorption there.

 		Nice, finally fully translated. Haven't really been looking forward to it, however, as it been getting weird, but I'm down with anything Cloverfield related. Hopefully, some more movie related stuff will pop up soon for the BluRay release.

Seriously though, this is not how I imagined this manga ending. I thought we would see MGP swimming from Japan to New York, a seamless transition or something to link it back to the movie.

I'm still perplexed. Would it be safe to assume that the New York events took place before the Japan incident? If so, is this the same MGP as in NY? Confused

Oh, to have a definite answer! Shocked

Readin this comic has kinda been like pickin up a hot ass chick at the bar, bein excited all freakin night cuz your about to bang this hot freakin chick, gettin her back to your place, undressing her, and findin out that shes wearin a fuckin girtle or some wierd shit underneath her dress, and when she unzips that shit, its like hawaii 5-0 surfin on waves-o-blubber time. What a major freakin let down. I wanted this comic to be a fuckin Charlese Theron, not a Fat Sweaty Betty.

i agree, the ending of it was pretty lackluster. no word on the pod, no word on the giant ocean-floor sac things, no word really on anything.

all we got was an oddly mirrorless and flawless haircut, and some tit honking.

Anyway, I thought that ending with the Vine and all finally gave all the "ZOMG there's more Clovers than one!!!1" people something to go with. Smile
