It seems odd that all the material so far seems related to Lightbringers. I'm wondering if we've missed a vital clue somewhere, but if that was the case, I think we'd have been given a pointer to get us back on track.

I was expecting some kind of symmetry with this light/dark thing. At the moment, we're all following the 'light' trail, and we don't have much idea what our aims are. I hope the situation improves.

I would argue the opposite, everything we are currently following stems back to MrToasty's package. We haven't actually been contacted by the LB's or Umbrati.

So, I just wanted to say good job to everyone for all the solving that I missed on my vacation. More importantly though, a new blog is up on DL:

Quote:
Please don't burn PayPal down... yet...
Today, June 02, 2008, 9 hours ago | Darklight Interactive
...at least not until I get all my money out of them.

Well there wasn't much PayPal could do for me, so I kind of had to fix things for myself. And, after opening yet *another* checking account (I didn't think I could for reasons I'd rather not elaborate on), I might be able to get my money out of PayPal by tomorrow.

I had to get someone else to pay for my hosting today because all my funds were tied up due to this fiasco. Would have looked rather awkward to do a major launch yesterday and lose the dedicated IP address tomorrow morning. Whoopsie!

But I *think* I can actually receive funds, for now. That's a step in the right direction at least.

*EDIT*
Since I think I have this problem resolved, in the next few days I'm going to be testing some... theories. If it works, it should be really interesting.

A lot of people think I'm crazy sometimes. Why I overdo things sometimes. Well, it might appear to be overkill, but it's not that much trouble to me. And, the way I see it, if you don't try different things now and then, you'll never know which things work. I've learned a lot about game design through action, and I've learned a lot about sending crap through the mail simply by doing it.

There are so many other possibilities in the world, and some people think those possibilities are only available to big name production studios or interactive agencies with thousands of employees. Time to show the world that "little ol' me" can do some crazy stuff.

Looks like this may be why the game wasnt busting or had the suprise that Monday would brig [as said in the other blog]. I guess we will see what tommorow will bring.

New Blog up :

Quote:
Don't you hate it when you plan to do something, try to do it, but for dumb ass technical reasons and limitations on the site you're trying to use you can't. Yet you can't elaborate on what that is or what happened, or rant about it at great lengths, for obvious secretive reasons?

I find that I'm censoring myself. Like when I'm in the process of cussing out something and my son walks in, so I have to hold my tongue and in the process sound like a complete blithering idiot.

"Damn that.... they don't... those damned... want... I... if only they'd... GAAAH!!!"

Of course, after the initial wave of frustration washes away, it becomes a challenge, a quest.

On a semi-related note, I hate not being in control of everything. I keep making analogies to hand grenades in this blog; sometimes it feels like that. You pull the pin and toss it, and hope that the grenade goes off in the right spot at the right time, praying that it isn't a dud, or blows up in your hand, or takes out a city block. So you sit, patiently, watching the grenade sail in a graceful arc, as if watching some cutting room floor bullet-time scene from The Matrix, crossing your fingers that it will do what you intended to. I mean, you know the grenade will detonate (or hope it will, anyway, 'cause the alternative is unthinkable), but if it takes longer than you expected you start to worry if it is in fact a dud.

Next time I'll use something bigger. Screw the city block... it's not like it's MY city block, right?

Oh... and... new mood music! -->

EDIT:
The mood music didn't work for me Crying or Very sad

Signs that something should be happening on our end in the game?

I keep going back to the Dali book to see if I missed anything important there. I may even have to break out the blacklight and look for seekrit messages tonight.

As for the LB alphabet, is there any pattern to how the symbols map to the English Alphabet and numbers? Circle vs. diamond, number of dots, orientation?

No, I meant the PM side. It was a joke highlighting the fact that the last couple of posts were about the song on the PM's blog. I just think it's funny to see where conversation leads when there's a lull in the game.

That being said, I am totally ready for whatever explosion he has in store for us.

Looks like the moon behind beams or waves of light?

Flipside probably meant to inverse the colours to get this.
As for what it means, it's the moon, which matches the Umbrati page, and the email's text.
Beyond that, I can only guess.

My first thought was that it looked liked the Johnny Rockets logo. Shocked

Seriously though, the subject of the e-mail is "Faces of a coin". This fits in with "flipside" and darkness needs dawn.

I thought the lines might indicate letters on the button, but that doesn't seem to work; All you get is 'fark'.

I suspect you have to use them together in some other way.
