I could be wrong... but the Sophrusune in me won't let it go:

Although the hammer slides are quite stunning, I *think* the codex specifies the way for walls to move is to leave your place and run around to form walls in front of the runner. Question

Definitely not challenging the world record (dam that Dav is FAST! Does he even need walls?!), but just wanted to get a consensus on this for future training Very Happy

Hah! There you get to something we did after that. RangerD is welcome to put it up if he feels like it. Basically I would set people at certain checkpoints on the labyrinth and run it blindfolded, without walls at all, having them hum as I got near so that I wouldn't run out of the labyrinth and/or so I would turn at the right time. I never got it perfect, but I'm working on it.

And yes, we tried the folding walls, but they were having trouble keeping up with me when I was walking SLOWLY, let alone quickly. hence the sliding hammer. You really do need 10 people to do the folding walls.

Bump!

Do you like cupcakes? Maple Bacon cupcakes? Vanilla cupcakes? If you don't like cupcakes, what is wrong with you?

This Saturday, June 7 at 2 pm in Golden Gate Park, we will be participating in the very first synchronized human labyrinth. The cities we shall be synchronizing with are:

Austin, Texas, USA
New York, NY, USA
São Paulo, Brazil
Wellington, New Zealand

Back to the important part. If you sign up and attend, you will not only be part of an historic event, but you will have the opportunity to consume your fill of delicious cakes in cup form.

Do it for the agonothetai. Do it for the multiverses. Do it for your taste buds.

PLEASE SIGN UP HERE.

Epic sadness for not being able to come.

Sometimes I do hate this time shift thing ... While you'll be running labyrinths, I'll be in bed sleeping. No chance of organizing a synchronized labyrinth in the middle of the night here!

PS I like cupcakes!

Ok I will be there, along with my bright red blindfold.

Hello Ranger D,

I commend your on your excellent reconnaissance work. Thank you very
much for this information, which confirms some of my research, but
also which adds new depth to my list of suspected omphacities. Bravo!

I also am very impressed with the team you have put together in San
Francisco for the lost sport. When the multiverse Olympiad happens in
August, assuming we have finished building the omph knot by then, I
believe your team may be our best chance for bringing home a victory
against the other worlds! Of course there are still two months to
train, and other cities may improve our odds of winning. I realize
winning is not the true goal. Synchronisation is. Nevertheless, it
would make this historian proud to see such a historic moment come to
pass. A lost world winning the lost sport! Imagine that.

I don't want to appear too sophrosune, but I would gently remind you
that in the official Olympiad, the wall will NOT be allowed to move
with the runner. The rules are clearly stated in the codex, and we
must follow them. The wall stands firm until the runner has passed.
Your strategy is a clever one, but it surely will disqualify your team
in the official Multiverse. And we can't have that, now can we?

Sincerely yours,

Eli Hunt

So there it is, no moving walls. Sad
