It has a free trial... I've just used it up already. I'd recommend you give it a shot if you haven't.

Been there, done that. I wasn't really impressed, myself, but that was back in September '06. I needed something more complete at the time.

BTW, looks like xVM VirtualBox 1.6 works pretty well, but it only does a basic Win98 install, and gives no drivers other than networking. I'll try a Win2K or XP install tomorrow and see how those work and let y'all know.

Oh, and faeryqueen21, something I didn't think of before -- do you know anyone who upgraded from XP to Vista? If so, then you can use their XP license, as the Vista license will supercede the XP one.

Good night, y'all.

Upgraded to Vista? Don't you mean downgraded?

Wiki is up to date. Added a brief how-to on the encryptor... If you see any problems please let me know.

Rejoice, Mac (and Linux) users! Very Happy

I just got BGCrypt working on Mono. Here's a short little how-to:

1) Make sure that you have X11 installed on your Mac. To do this, pop in your installation DVD and scroll down to your "Optional Installs" file on the DVD. Open that up, run through the typical OS X installer steps until right before you're going to install. If it hasn't already, open up the "custom install" part. Deselect everything except for "X11". Finish the install.

2) Download Mono from here (http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/archive/1.9.1/macos-10-universal/3/MonoFramework-1.9.1_3.macos10.novell.universal.dmg)

3) Run through the install.

4) Since you can't run the normal Windows installer, grab my already extracted EXE and supporting files here. It includes everything, including all of the keys up to now.

5) Once the application is unzipped to somewhere (I'll use the desktop as an example), drop down to the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)

6) Type in "mono " (with that space) and then drag the CryptConsole.exe application you extracted onto the terminal window. The rest of the path will fill out. It should end up something like "mono /home/redct/Desktop/BlueGen\ Encryptor/CryptConsole.exe". Hit enter.

7) It should start up! There is the slight problem of it crashing at random times, but that's a small price to pay for not booting into Windows. Right, guys? Yeah!

Cool, and importing keys and decoding files/images works so far? I hope so, because I was about to start trying to some serious C# voodoo if it didnt.

That's awesome. Worked like a charm on my system, but I had to reload all the keys individually, and it had some problems finding the proper directory, but I was able to work around that.

Hey, pancito... ("little bread man;" in case I haven't already said it, I think that's an awesome nick!) ...can you add this info for Mono onto the wiki?

Thanks DK!
This game has sort of been on rails so far, which, given everything Nighthawk has going on (PayPal, Hosting, Encryptor, other projects, the need to do SOMETHING with this before the momentum melted) I can understand, respect and live with. But if the latest blog is any indication get ready for

I hope.

No love for the Lightside. Confused This email appears to have been mailed to the Umbrati's only.

Holy Hand Grenade

I Got MAIL!!!!

Pictures below are crappy because all I have is my cheesy phone camera. But I'll explain what it all is.

Like Toasty's, there was an inner envelope that had been opened addressed to Jessica Valenti in SF. This was from Kate Eridani / 1 Carlton B. Goodwin Pl. Apt. 200 / San Francisco 94102.

Inside this were two items. First, a book, Sweets to the Sweet by Susan Branch. This was bookmarked by a Valentine card that reads, "I love the way you smile at me / I love the way your hands reach out to hold me near... / I believe this is heaven to no one else but me." The recipe bookmarked is Chocolate Mousse (serves eight) and Creme Caramel (serves eight). One light, one dark dessert.

Also included was a booklight / flashdrive gift set with a card tucked inside. The envelope for the gift card has a J hand written on the front in cursive. Inside it reads, "Never lose your way in the dark..." signed 'K'

I don't see anything remarkable about the reading light.

The flash drive has a BUNCH of files. I'm going through them now and will zip them and post in a couple of minutes.

I just saw on the wiki that we have the level 4 key (BGLvl4.enc), but there is no explanation of where it came from. Anyone know? What did I miss?

ETA: This is all the files except images. There are a bunch of those. Jessica and another woman in one set. An asian woman in the second set.

The zip files are the name of the directory on the flash drive, except 'root' which is the root DIR. Contains an installer for the encryptor and a read me. Haven't looked at anything yet.

The encryptor in ROOT is the old version. IGNORE
