I have received the trackstick, trackstick instruction letter from Kai and the goodies (strength stickers, temporary tatoos ).

Likewise, two days after Kai sent everything off.
It's not the first time that a company unrelated to an ARG other than through sponsorship or press releases has a hard time explaining the concept of it. Articles in Le Monde about Perplex City made it sound like it was essentially a game for jetsetters who collect postcards in airports all over the world.
Miss Hall has a point, thought - there might be more to these Tracksticks' mission that meets the eye. At over 160€ apiece, it would be a pity to use them just for these one shot city labyrinths But the Olympic Games are coming up, and who knows how fast the story will evolve allowing - or not allowing time - to do more with these than Omphalabyrinths.

Did they put more info up? http://www.trackstick.com/thelostring/index.html
Still seems to have a few errors- no cars allowed?

Yes. The one we used in SF (The data from which they have ON THEIR SITE) was in the car (on the dash) 90% of the time.

That's a bit confusing, especially since these city labyrinths are very large, and the teams have not been large enough to support that many miles, right?

I'm not completely sure what you mean. I think so far that every team has stayed together for the duration of the trip. It's not like one person takes the stick for a few hours, and then hands it off to the next person who takes it for the next few hours, etc. Six of us were on the road for 5 hours. I thought the Munich team was on the road for 5.5 hours. And they used a car too, but I don't think they did for most of it.

Oop, sorry, I meant the trackstick site was confusing, with the passing of a baton AND saying "no cars." I was just expressing some agreement with the general confusion over it.

5 hours by car. I guess they expect a huge team of people walking around for a day or two passing their tracksticks around the city...

Hm. well...The minimum diameter of a labyrinth is 3 stadia...and the minimum number of circuits is three...Assuming a circle, the outer path would be about 1 mile...
and if the two inner paths are 2/3 and 1/3 of the diameter of the outer path...that's approximately another mile between them.
I'm assuming that the paths between the circuits would be made up by the circuits not being complete circles.
So. pretty much a minimum path of two miles. Most people should be able to go two miles on foot, if necessary. Don't you think?

The trackstick website isn't where we get our instructions although I would be down with a ginormous relay on our five hour circuit. Just find out when and where you would need to be for your leg. Could be fun and a great chance for exercise.

The Wellington Labyrinth was 3-Circuits, 6.7 Stadia wide, and took 2.5 hours to walk (as a single group) if that is any indication. Hope to get to my work PC this afternoon to download the trackstick data...
Clearly this info on the Trackstick site is totally wrong... perhaps a heads-up really is in order this time.
