No name, huh? Just a number... well then we should get some sleuthing done. I'll volunteer to call tomorrow night. Bit busy the next 24 what with moving into a new apartment and trying to make another training run. Weird how James knew that Dav has been our runner champ. He was keeping closer tabs on us than I'm comfortable with.

Ditto here.
With exams, etc. it'll be hard, but i'll try to do it.

ETA--
Just managed to watch the first two labyrinth videos. The bit where James does the labyrinths like four times and the next time he just stands there, and I can see him thinking "Fuck this shit, man...." and he just starts like jogging it....
I dunno, it cracked me up.

Also, can we get the transcript for the third video after James says "So what do you want to know?" Or did you not film that part?

I will point out that at one point I mentioned practicing labyrinths on my back porch. That could have helped with it...

called it. Got the answering machine.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the recording is a man's voice with an accent that I hesitatingly would say is Japanese. He says something like: you have reached a recording station for the Opposition, please record the results of your mission.

So do you think this is an alternate way of confirming your missions besides email?

We've had no indication that it is something that we as players should be using...so far, it is just to justify why James was calling that number in the first place. Either that answering must be monitored very closely, or James must have been lucky in his timing (recording his "I've been compromised" message right before someone checked the messages) for the kidnapping of Kai to have taken place so soon after his message was recorded.

Lesson learned: if you are going to call a super secret agency to record the details of your super secret mission...watch your back! Standing at the corner of a building, looking off into the distance, with no idea what may be coming out of the doors behind you, is never wise Wink.

i think that players should leave this alone for now, it may be used in the future as IG, but i think james should be asked about it for sure.

Actually, I disagree.. I think that it was an intentionally setup to allow you access to that number. Kai tells you to get the phone from James, and he makes the comment about being compromised...

That, plus creating a phone message and phone # is an awful lot of work for something to be ignored..

I think it was an ingenious way of providing an additional clue.

Hmm, well, I did a reverse phone number lookup on the number at http://www.whitepages.ca/reverse_phone, and it is of course unlisted/unpublished. However, a map was displayed when I pulled up the full details. Is it worth trying to have someone check out the location?

I don't think that'll lead us to much, however... Maybe those of us against theo should call the number and start flooding it with messages to muck up their system. A bit of sabotage. Otherwise why give it to our side?

Hmm. I'm not sure that fits with what happened at the "abduction". Remember that by the end of it, all present had taken the TheO oath, thus allowing James to tell TheO that he wasn't really compromised, that it all worked out OK in the end (and that it was OK to let Kai go). In other words, as far as TheO knows, "our side" doesn't have the number...only a bunch of new TheO agents do, which is acceptable. If James is exposed to TheO as really being compromised, through calls by our side to a number we could only have got through him, we could lose the opportunity to get access to the higher-level secrets that we're trying to get by getting 27 new people brought into TheO. (Mind you, from a meta perspective, we're intended to get these higher-level secrets, so hopefully if someone did decide to call that # on behalf of our side the PMs would just ignore it...but let's not push our luck, or overly annoy the person at the other end of the line.)

You raise a good point. No need stirring up trouble prematurely.

At last I've caught up with this thread! If any Japanese speaker is necessary in the near future, I'm available.

Still waiting on the third part of the famous James ambush video trilogy.

Will it ever be published?
