[SPEC] More Coordinate Rambling

I'm a Noob at this so please be gentle.

I want to express some thoughts about the coordinates.

1) By posting coordinates there is no way the PMs could have expected people not to visit the locations. The PMs must have expected that people would physically investigate the locations. None of the locations are unreachable by foot (e.g. located in the middle of a body of water), and from what I have read none of the locations are any significant distance from access by car. I don't believe they are random, thus they were chosen specifically for some reason. What does this mean? I think it may indicate that there is something to be learned from them physically.

2) Dana's link to the distance calculator in her blog seems related. If she was only stating '5913 miles' then why the link? I think the PMs want us to use it.

These ideas appear somewhat contradictory.

Yep, but at the same time, the PM's could have done this as a red herring, knowing we would spend a lot of time investigating the sites (all 220) until we exhausted all possible avenues, when the whole time the answer was right under our noses.

I think it's just as likely that the PMs just didn't want people bursting into some poor old lady's living room asking about bees and Halo 2 release dates and stuff.

Theories

I heard a theory somewhere that perhaps it was a distance between two points, correlating to the letters of the alphabet. I have been looking around, and no one ever expanded on this.

Can someone either disprove me or try to take an alternate route of solving the blatantly obvious (not in solution) puzzle. Also, the theories about starmaps are good too.

Note from poster: Its more interesting to watch the "well-informed" types solve the puzzles and read the results. I could very well make a new post and post my theories, but it is more fun to see if others have my own thoughts and also to see my theories cut to pieces before they leave my fingertips.

Been here since the beginning, to lazy to register.

Following up to my last topic. Made an account.

Will edit this post if I find anything out.

I tend to go along with this theory though, that the PMs wouldn't have used GPS coordinates as clues if they didn't want us noticing something in the environment. (It may be a wait til the 24th thing, or not.) But I think they would have done something else, if it was just a distance thing. (for one, they could have been spread across the globe, instead of just in the U.S. ... we'd even have precedent with Dana's blog as a guide.)

No, I think the physical space itself is relevant, either for a word puzzle, some commonality, or something yet to happen. And while a lot of stuff has been said about Microsoft/Bungie/whoever not speding so much money to scout these locations, I think that's exactly why they're all located in the United States. I know MS is omnipresent and all Wink, but at the same time, I do think they have a lot more offices scattered throughout the US than anywhere else. So, while I don't think it's conclusive or anything, I really do think that these locations are/will be personally visited and chosen for some specific purpose that was not just distances and such. I DO NOT, HOWEVER, BELIEVE IT WOULD BE A DEMO OR ANYTHING. That's just absurd, and has been flat-out denied already by those who have the power to make such statements.

It actually was expanded. Refer to this spreadsheet for all the distance between points you'll ever need. I've been working on this, but so far, I haven't been able to find any corrolation between those numbers, and letters. As a side note, those distances were taken from the site on Dana's blog.

The only thing I can come up with using all the tools and hints we have, doesn't really make sense, and is probably trout anyways. What I was thinking is if we have the term axons on the page, then these points could be nerves coming out from somewhere. Then we also have the distancing tool Dana used from her blogger. What I was thinking is to put those to things together and pinpoint the location that would seem likely that all these points were coming from. But taking a look at the map it doesn't really seem like thats possible considering these points are all over the place. But if there is a way to do it I think it would make some sense. Melissa may not be in Dana's computer afterall, or maybe that site would be where something else is, or where she is moving to. I'm really trying my hardest, honestly.
