Ok, fair enough. After hearing a few songs I figured them for the Atreyu-type. Still erks me that they stole that line from 'Lock, Stock...' to make their song name sound tough.

compared to death metal.
deathcore is harder IMO.

Ya, deathcore is definitely not harder than death metal. In fact, Whitechapel are so good that I'm marking them down as death metal instead, I just don't hear the 'core' in it. They probably got labeled 'core' since they're a young band and no one wants to make the distinction between genres when they could just so easily fit neatly into this new scene.

Check out a band called Bloodbath, then tell me deathcore bands are heavier. Don't get me wrong, I don't love all death metal, some of it's incomprehensible noise, but when it's done right, like Bloodbath, it's amazing, and feels so much more sincere than the 'core' bands. Though I do really like Job For A Cowboy.

But music's music i guess. Not gonna be loyal to a genre for name sake. If it's good, I'll listen to it. Just a little too much derivative shit goin on in deathcore right now. Shame cause I really liked that cricket-type grunt before everyone started doing it.
