Some interesting videos that could lead to some ARGish stuff. New videos are posted every few days, very high-quality, creepy stuff. Not sure if it's going to get interactive at all, but the videos are at least worth a watch.

 		Also sorry for the double post. But the girl names herself as "Sara Ford" but in the 3rd video; what seems to be her and her bf (if they're the same people) - He calls her "Libby" I'm sure of it.

Any confirmation on this?

I think that's a different person. The videos seem to split into two parts. Military, and Sara. Makes me wonder if there's an in-game explanation as to who's making the videos. And more curious is what the countdown of days left means...

Looks interesting, I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one.

 		They've added "newspapers" to the site. If this does have ARGish elements, I would probably scan through the articles to find names of potential characters.

 		The story so far:

In April 2009, due to the continuing war on terrorism, a terrorist attack occured in downtown LA and LAX Airport. Many were killed, including over 300 members of the US Congress, and it caused panic in California. People start looting. The National Guard, as well as the Police force, could not keep order, so the US Military was called in, who begin to enact Martial Law (which includes a harsh curfew) on the people of California.

The US Military enforces the PATRIOT Act to close all beaches and discourage video recording. The US Military Police help out at LAX airport mainly, while providing additional service elsewere.

The "surviving members of Congress" agree with President Bush to stay the results of the 2008 elections and to expand the powers of the PATRIOT Act, due to America's current state of emergency. This allows the US Military to go into the homes of American citizens and forcefully remove them. They are taken to Detention Camps where they are stripped of rights and tortured.

On May 09, Department of Homeland Security still does not know who attacked America or why. The media and the American people start to demand answers, but the Government refuses. American citizens continue to be detained by the US Military. The US Media begins to lose their freedom and start to become mouthpieces for the Bush Administration.

For some reason, communications seem to be down. Cell Phones do not work at all.

Homeland Security begins their own news service, Homeland News Services (HNS) giving rosy images of the current events. HNS addresses members of Congress, saying that everything will be well. Sky News seems to be one of the only independent news organizations.

On May 16, 2009 (50 Days Remaining), former military bases are being converted into Detention Camps. The International Red Cross reports overcrowding at the US Borders as people flee the country.

On May 23rd (43 Days Remaining), Human Rights Watch reports that American is continuing their campaign of fear and control. US refugees in Mexico City report widespread abuse due to [unintelligible]. US Officials deny any wrongdoing. The US Government continues to deport foreigners. HNS shuts down Sky News within the US Border, "in complience with order #2791-T".

In the midst of this is our Heroine. Her name is Sara Ford, and at first, she's a normal, albet scared, 18 year old girl from Calinornia. She leaves LA for the Mojave Desert after a unknown US Soldier tells her to. On the way, she stops for a hitchhiker who causes Sara to get lost. They manage to find a place to sleep for a night, but the Hitchhiker steals her car while Sara is sleeping, along with her food and water. Two men (possibly US Soldiers) find her and try to bring her back to health, although one of them as evil intentions.


These videos feature alot of music from Nine Inch Nails, from the albums Year Zero, The Slip, and Ghosts. I like that, but it seems odd that they would use so much music from that band.

This story is very dystopian and could possibly be a comment against the current Bush policies, perhaps trying to endorse Obama.

Anyway, very cool. I'm shocked by the level of the production quailty, and the actors are quite good. I've never seen any web series look so good.

I'll check out that site now.

Has anyone tried emailing them? infoSPLAT2009atruestory.com I just emailed them, asking why they have created this story and who they are.

 		that was a very good review and i didn't even get some of the things they mentioned until i read that recap post. it seems good but kinda hard to follow and is at the moment kinda slow. im also disappointed that we don't get to do anything but watch.

 		A slight correction/clarification about the synopsis provided above:

The 300 members of congress killed were from 'Attacks on Capitol Hill', not in LA. There is an implication that coordinated attacks occurred, or at least the public is meant to believe that such attacks occurred.

Ah, sorry. I thought that they died in LA. Anyway, i'm glad you guys liked my summary. Smile
