Elgamer, nice effort mate, but you're not the first... elsewhere in this thread the exact same thing has been done, several times Sad

I've been keeping up with this thread and haven't seen anyone else mention this - but the id of each DIV tag that contains each coordinate is "transmit".

just thought I'd throw it out there...

hey something else just occured to me - I'm sure one of the pages on ILB contained something like

on, off
on off on off
off on off on
on off on off
on off on off
on off on off

(etc)

I can't find it now, but I wonder if it's some kind of mask to be used on the coords?

yes...... the first 4 lines or so were
"on off on off"

then it switched to

"off on off on"

for about 18 lines or so

Something to chew on:

After reading at the Wiki site that one of the GPS locations happened to be a K-Mart that had a bee-related news story, I decided to google around for similar events at a site near me.

Row 5, column 2 coordinates are either right at the front door or inside (depening on who you ask) the Factoria Mall in Bellevue, Washington. This location is pretty close to a payphone (I still like the payphones theory), but Google also revealed that there is a seminar taking place there soon:

Quote:

Saturday, October 23, 2004

9am - 4pm

Seattle Tree Fruit Fall Fair

Factoria Mall

Mason Bee educational display and other informative displays.

Beediverse Mason Bee houses and books will be available for sale.

Dr. Margriet Dogterom is available for book signing and to answer questions about mason bees and pollination.

She will be presenting a seminar on "Keeping your mason bees healthy and productive"- time to be announced.

Come and share your ideas and thoughts on keeping mason bees. See you there!

This comes from http://www.beediverse.com/calendar.shtml

The company is owned by a Dr. Margriet Dogterom (almost a Margaret, but not quite). Although a website so narrowly focused on bees (they even have forums!) is kind of wierd, it looks legit. Dr. Dogterom is referenced by other beekeeping websites and has a book or two on Amazon.

ok seriously i don't want to start another damn thread, but there are a decent amount of bee connections springing up...

for now I'm trying to talk about them in this thread:

That 'bars, triangles and dots' thing in page earlier of this post is from "First Strike". Anybody that has the book, check out page 238 at the top:

"The Master Chief stared at the tinay triangles, squares, dots, and bars that made up the spatial coordinates. " We've seen these before, on Cote d'Azur.""

And weren't there a whole bunch of onoff on one page of ILB? Maybe 110 pairs of onoff's? Maybe checking out the odd ones might pull up something.

Kind of adds to the 'categories' idea - these bees may be a coincidence, but this one's the best so far. Smile

Has anyone tried to triangulate the coordinates using the 2 columns plus the San Fran location? I'm not real sure how to go about doing this, but if anyone else wants to give it a try, I'd be more than happy to take credit for it. Cool

I haven't found anything although I might be wrong, but has anyone figured out what the whitespaces in the orange for the GPS list mean? Or could mean? Or how they're relevant?

If you're referring to what I think you're referring to, it's because the entire coordinate list appears on top of a stretched out (and often corrupted) version of the "fun stuff!" link graphic.

That is what I was referring to, and I was just staring at it to see if I could glean any meaning from that at all (beyond the superifical "fun stuff" being at the GPS points.) Forgive me if this seems dense, I came into this kind of late (read: yesterday) and as something to do since I'm waiting for the school semester to start.

It just seems odd, that there would be certain blocks on top of the words and not others, to me.

not sure this is relevant, but the picture in the background of the links page (http://www.ilovebees.com/links.html) that is the fun stuf image, when corrupted reads as follows:

Five—he skips the hall
Jumping for the great throne room
She comes on behind

not sure if this is a trout or not, but i did a search and didnt find anything.
perhaps there could be some sore of location that has a great throne room or something to do with skipping coordinates containing the number 5 or even like skipping every 5th coordinate.... or using every 5th coordinate only....

maybe even starting at the bottom, or standing and looking at a coordinate and looking behind it...?

the possibibilities are out there, but i really think that this could have some sort of bearing.

another theory of mine involes the content of the coordinates. it would seem that all these places are stores mentioning bees or like outside things like trees and lakes. perhaps if we categorize them accordingly....

well it's just another thing to bring to the table. hope i was of some help Wink

if anyone was looking for this, the link to the on off on off on off thing is: http://www.ilovebees.com/surg.!store.primary.sector.mem.dmg.0.1.html

you just had to click on the bee graphic link to the left inside the about me link, and then the page that brings up has another bee link, as do all the rest of the primary links on ilovebees. im sure some of you knew that, but im sure some of you didnt. so there it is. ive been following this forum and i decided to give you all my 2 cents, but i think the on off idea is a good one. someone check it out. Thanx.
