I"m not sure if there is a Konditori Bagere because when I emailed Brock and asked if there were other bakeries he said that there were only two in town that were in production. But he is new to town.

Copy of email is a few posts above.

Did read that, but it does seem to be some sort of business (if their shipments aren't getting checked). Also the sourcecode for Cupcake Castle said "Owned and operated by Konditori Bagere." A person maybe? I wonder if it's only illegal for bakeries to have fruit and sprinkles, or if they are outlawed in full?

Ahh - I see the note now in the source code - I was checking the code on the wrong page.

Good distinction - I wasn't paying attention Smile

That would be my guess. Someone might try sending an email... Heck, I might try it. Okay, why not.

It bounced.

I figured out the password for the Cookietown email thanks to a hint from Brock http://scribblecube.net/Inspector/Email/

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
usid edgiftpilz
pswd mushroom

Here is our email conversation (read from bottom to top)

Well, I'd have to say I don't know my boss that well yet, he tends to keep to himself, with the office door shut. Unless of course he is yelling down the hallway at me. He is really proud of his german heritage though, and loves things that tie in with his last name. As far as pastries go, I couldn't say what his favorite is, I've never seen him eat one.

If you can find anything out, keep me posted. I'm starting to get really uncomfortable.

I may know a way to get proof that your boss is doing something wrong but I need to know more about him. For instance do you know what his favorite pastry is?
Any thing you might know about him, quirks, favorite things and such would really help at this point. =)
Thank you!

You know. You are right, things are just not adding up. I'm beginning to doubt Giftpilz's motives on this. He definitely seems to have it out for PastryBot. I can't just go to him and ask him about it though. And the Mayor wouldn't listen to someone like me, not new in town and gossiping about my boss. I'm kind of at a loss. Perhaps if I had proof that he was actually doing something wrong, besides having bad taste in baked goods, that is...

I am curious about the lack of any action being taken against the Cupcake Castle by the health inspector's office. I notice it is owned by a German and your boss is also German.
This looks bad Brock. Please tell me your thoughts on the subject and please don't say that you are too new to know, or that it will be handled eventually. The law is the law correct?

The name Giftpilz means mushroom in German. Now we have the dirt on Giftpilz, it looks like he was just getting rid of the competition. I am going to email Brock with the information. Smile

Ah, not that it helps much (now we know that the inspector is crooked) but I talked to Brock too.

Hiya Brock!
Those were some mighty nice business cards. (Sorry if I've used them inappropriately.) Just wanted to pass along my sentiments that you probably made a wise decision. Callie may be allergic to flowers, but in a place like Cookietown, I'm sure you could find some other sweet gesture!

I was also wondering, since you seem to work for a prominent city department, whether you'd ever heard the name Konditori Bagere? I overheard someone talking about it and was just curious as to what it may be.

I thank you for any help you can give, but even if not, I still wish you good luck with Callie!

-Degravedi

P.S. That's an aweful shame about PastryBot. They seemed like such nice folks and what great pastries! I've never been much for Cupcake Castle myself but it seems that the good folks of Cookietown don't have too many options now.

Quote:
Degravedi,

I think Callie is too busy right now to care if I left her flowers or anything else for that matter, she left the office crying as soon as we got back from the raid on PastryBot. I'm not sure why all of this is happening yet, but there seems to be something going on on levels I don't have access to. As for Konditori Bagere, the only thing I know about the family is that they own the Cupcake Castle. I'm not quite sure what they have to do with this yet, but perhaps things will be more clear in time.

Thanks for the support though with Callie.

Brock

I know that I'm just a sappy sucker but I sure do hope things work out with Brock and Callie. Cause Broccolli and Cauliflower are just like...two peas in a pod! Or maybe I'm just being corny. Laughing :having way too much fun:

And btw, way to go waitress#2! Giftpilz is definitely the kind of guy I want to see burned at the stake. Shocked Figuratively. Of course.

@waitress#2 - very cool, the email info was helpful! Thanks. I had tried a million variations on Konditori Bagere for the password.

There are 2 new blog posts by Brock, looks like they are going to show P. Scura the evidence on Giftpilz.

Callie wants me to do what?
I showed the documents I was given to Callie, and she seemed so happy. Apparently, her uncle really is the owner of PastryBot bakeries, just like everyone had been telling me, and therefore the director of this pscura stuff I kept hearing about. I told her that I was confused and wondered if I should take the information directly to the police. She said that the police wouldn't do anything, they were being paid by the chief inspector. Then she asked me to do something that is so crazy, I'm not sure if I can. She asked me to go with her to give the documents to her uncle.
I am still not sure if her uncle, pscura, and PastryBot are trustworthy, things have moved so fast. Callie is on messenger right now, trying to convince me otherwise, but I'm not sure

Decisions made
I had a hard decision to make, but I am heading off with Callie to see her Uncle. We have to make this right.

I'm thinking that I would like to see Giftpilz marinaded in a sauce and then roasted over a grill, possibly with some red peppers, roasted potatoes, some garlic, all served next to a juicy steak...

...also figuratively. ...*shifty eyes*... of course.

To all Cookietown citizens,

In celebration of the removal of the ban on sprinkles and jam, the cookietown chronicle has sponsored a pastry baking contest. for the next 24 hours, send pictures of your pastry to cookietown.newsSPLATgmail.com and our staff will get together and judge the entries. Of course we here at the Cookietown Chronicle would much rather you bring in the pastries for us to try, but if that isn't an option, pictures will have to do. Come help us crown a new Cookietown Pastry King or Queen! Please include a picture of your favorite pastry, as well as your address so that, if you win, you can get your prize!

Thank You,
Cookietown Chronicle

Awwww! ^^ :does the happy dance: Giftpilz is done for, Brock turned out to be a really good guy, and he and Callie seem to be getting together. I love happy endings!

And so wait, that contest thing is a little confusing. Are we supposed to bake a pastry and send a picture, or are we just supposed to send a picture of our favorite pastry?

I like happy endings too. Very Happy And I'm glad that the world is safe for sprinkles again.
I think we can just find a picture of a pastry and pretend that we baked it. Cool

Well, this worked out for the best, Ernst Der Giftpilz is in jail, and even though he has a lawyer, with the evidence against him I doubt he will be getting out of there any time soon. With some help from my new friends, I think I ended up doing the right thing. Callie sure thinks so, so I guess it must have been okay. We are going out to dinner tonight, and for dessert, I think it will be a jellyroll… with sprinkles on it.
Cookietown is really a great place, and the people who live here have been so helpful. I don't know if there will still be a need for an assistant inspector here in the Health Department, but hopefully there will be something for me to do. I could get to like it here. I've been following the developments in town on the news site right here. Seems like they are having some sort of a contest.
Callie is standing at the doorway to my office right now, looking at me expectantly. I suppose I should get out of here and take a lady to get something to eat.
Bye for now.

P.S. the bouquet ended up being a pretty good idea after all.

Brock's final blog, for those too lazy to track it down on the blog site...

I'm sending pictures of my favorite pastry. Or the funniest pastry-related picture I can find.

Whichever, really.

It's over, folks...
Yay?

Here's our little story about creating Cookietown:

When we heard that OFL was going to be going on vacation, two things went through our minds: "Lucky!" and "What are we going to do to keep busy now?"

A few of us happened to be in the IRC channel and decided that the only thing that would keep us from brooding over BoL/SiD being on "pause" for a week was to create a game for ourselves.

And so, inspired by the meme OFL inadvertently created here on Unfiction, Cookietown was born.

So, 2 days later, with:
* 48 hours to plan.
* 35 pages on a wiki, and over 200 changes to it over two days.
* 10,000 words written to plan it alone.
* 28 separate web pages.
* 5 email addresses.
* 2 phone numbers.
* And plot holes you could drive a truck through (or for that matter, a Boeing 747)...

Were we ready to launch? You BET!

Our little team:

Brock Ollie - played by desertilluminati

Callie Flower - played by Makyla77

Ernst Der Giftpilz - played by redct

Pasticceria Scura - played by AzureWolf

____

redct took care of all of the web page design and hosting. This guy can throw something together quick! And there were a few times when we needed something put up _right now_ he was always ready to make that happen.

desertilluminati took care of the writing for the blog, as well as the timeline for the story arc. She is really a great writer and can seemingly crank out an entire story line at a moment's notice. Her imagination and writing skills are awesome. And that's also her voice on the tip line.

makyla77 took care of direct player interaction and voice acting. That accent sure is pretty!
Also, her last minute brainstorming led to the Pastry Baking Contest.

AzureWolf took care of email interaction and last minute brainstorming. He was also the resident nitpicker. Without his constant attention on details, so many things could have went wrong. But thanks to his attention to detail, we were able to fix about everything in time.

Finally, ineffabelle took care of some graphic design and last minute brainstorming.

_______

Thanks to:

The players who suspended their disbelief long enough to play a game that was so corny it belonged in the produce section…

OFL for starting a pastry meme on Unfiction (if inadvertently) that led to the creation of this little trail….

Everyone for putting up with our fumbling about on this side of the curtain. This was a first for any of us, and we had a good time trying to make it work.

_______

Will we ever do this again?

Who knows? It will be a while before we tried this again, though we had a blast doing this over the past four days. Perhaps down the line aways.

In the meantime, enjoy your pastry (now including sprinkles and jam filling)!

Oh, and Azure reminded me of this on IRC:

There was only one thing that you guys didn't find. (Hint: Check the source of the rules/regulations).
