Just to further derail the music convo...

Shyamalan HAS definitely made some good movies. Sixth Sense was great (even if it's not very rewatchable) but it was obviously over-hyped, I liked Unbreakable much more, Signs had good ideas but the ending kinda blew it, I liked the Village even if no one else did, and Lady in the Water was completely fucked, not great, but interesting.

I stand by Unbreakable as a great movie. Got a bootleg of the Happening just cause I know someon will ruin the ending before i bother to see it. So I may check it out tonight to see how terrible it is.

The guy's not a genius as he was built up to be with his first 2 movies, but he can direct VERY well. Writing is his problem, and he should start leaving that to someone else.

Listening to: Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun

Wait til you see how bad the acting in the happening is to say he can direct...how he managed to make mark whalberg unbelievable as an actor is beyond me.
I liked unbreakable and signs. Hated sixth sense and lady in the water. I'm kinda on the line with the village...liked how surprising it is, but still mad that there were no badass monsters.

And skatehimrock, my turn to say to you: EPIC SONG. Though i like Legends Never Die more.

Ya, they pulled a bit too much bait 'n switch with the monster stuff. They're real, they're not, uh oh they are again, oh crap they're really not. That shifted me around too much. I was blown away when they showed the monsters were fakes, and then one sneaks up on that girl at the end. Had they kept it that way i'd be calling it a classic. But then it turned out the monsters WERE fake and i was completely disappointed. The OTHER twist right at the end surprised me, but not really in the best way. still on the fence about that ending. It's far from a terrible movie, just a little too many fake outs.

Nothing'll stop me from loving Unbreakable though. When I first saw it I had no idea of the comic book concept and that was a really cool surprise.
I think Shyamalan must need Bruce Willis to keep his shit on track. The endings keep fucking up. Besides Lady In The Water, which I don't even know what to say about it. Some of it I thought was great, but it was too long and completely retarded by the time it finished. Very cool grass-wolves though.

I read a review talking about how Shyamalan's biggest problem is having no clue how real people act, and how all his characters never act like real people would in those situations. I think that makes the most sense to me. Gonna go watch Happening now. I'm expecting a brutally terrible movie, so i guess I can only be impressed from here. haha

Didn't watch the Happening yet. Been using spare work time to make an enormous playlist for a camping trip. I'm sure it's exactly as bad as everyone says, and I'll try to get around to it tonight.

Listening To: Switched - Skins

Judging by your choices of favourite bands, I've gotta ask, I'm talking exclusively to teenagers right?
