[HOLO] It's over: Post-game survey Guess it *is* over...
Quote:
You've received this survey because you played a role in the Holomove alternate reality game. We certainly enjoyed watching as you worked together to help Nathan blow the lid off Holomove's plans and find Dr. Gough. We hope you enjoyed it too.
Now, we'd like to invite you to take part in a survey to get your opinions on the game - your feedback is important and will help make future projects even better. After this survey, no one will contact you as a result of your participation today.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes. This part is definitely not a game, but we hope you enjoy reliving our adventure together. Please click the following link to start the survey:
http://survey.otxresearch.com/SurveyEntry.aspx
(EDIT: Full link, which includes a GUID, is not included by me as the GUID might identify me specifically)
YOUR ANSWERS ARE GIVEN IN COMPLETE CONFIDENCE AND WILL NOT BE PASSED TO THIRD PARTIES.
Please get in touch with careersSPLAT holomove.com with any questions.
Kind regards,
The Holomove Team

Yeah. I'm ranting in chat about this now. I mean, wtf - don't we get to see erik and eliza arrested? What happened to george? did he escape? And the technology - did it go anywhere?
AND WHAT - if anything - did it have to do with Visual Studio?!?! Is this even FOR visual studio?
*sigh* I have some strong feelings that will be politely expressed in this survey. I hope we get to do a PM chat...

I took the survey. Yes, the emphasis is heavily on Visual Studio and asks me questions like "did you run out and buy VS?"
Yeah, an ARG's gonna make me buy a thousand dollar piece of software...
(I actually do own VS, but still)
At the end of the survey, if you provide your email, they say we will be notified of a post-game chat. So I'm guessing there will eventually be a more direct means of expressing your dismay.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
Free Tshirt too!
Oh I liked the question:
Quote:
Which of these statements do you think applies best to the Holomove ARG? (Please select one.)
my answer: I don't see the connection with Microsoft Visual Studio at all
and

Which if any of the following things have you done since hearing about the Holomove ARG? (Please select all that apply.)
hmmm.... None of these.....

My survey said 32 digit password, so I didn't connect it to the 32 character password from the application response email.
What did it do for anyone who may have entered it?
Also... I agree, it was not a good finish (from what little I saw on the forums) and the connection to Visual Studio (if there was one, beyond the obvious site building which is hardly unique to this game) eluded me. But that could be a blessing in disguise.
Maybe next time, they'll invite me and I'll feel like putting some effort into it.

Well, it didn't *do* anything. That's the beauty of it...
Actually, I imagine it's simply a way for them to further identify the survey taker.
BTW: I got two identical emails twenty minutes apart.

When we did our online job application, there were some questions about those software products. The same question appeared on the post game survey. I'm sure they use the 32-bit key to compare the answers "pre" and "post" game.

Just for the record, I just received yet another identical Email from the Holomove crew.
I wonder what mail service provider they're using...

You're lucky, I've got four of them.

And I didn't get any email. Apparently they took the list from the Holomove job apps, the most pointless part of the game, rather than e.g. RK's mailing list.
ETA: What I forgot to mention is that without the GUID, the link doesn't work. Since the site is a general market research site, and they ask for your 32-character code from the application, I think it's to identify which survey on that site rather than who you are. Would someone be able to post a link with the ID (or just quote the survey, I'm not fussed about taking it)?

I entered in password and email and it said they would like to invite me back for a longer discussion with the first XX (i forget) people to sign up get a holomove t-shirt.
Yes, it has increased my awareness with MS VS, no I'm not going to buy it. It could be anyone who made a similar ARG. Its pretty cool for the MS VS people to run it.
