Nah, I'm pretty sure that it's set up to automagically download the robots.txt file, like any search engine. Anyway, it at least might confirm that it's existed for a while.

That's odd, because the whois claims it was created May 4th and registered with register.com

Just means that someone owned the address for a while and then microsoft or who ever grabbed it recently for this specific arg.
