Did anyone ROT the username? if marrok has the password, and that was ROT'd, then I would assume that the random-letter name is under the same deal.
I'd do it myself, but I don't really know what it is... I'm kinda useless at anything practical.
I'm not very good with puzzles either, I private messaged Q on myspace and he responded, so I'll show what I sent, as well his response in hopes that someone can figure it out.

I am stuck. I cannot make heads or tails of the username, no amount of ciphering seems to work, forwards and backwards ROT-ing and substitution. The clue doesn't make sense to me, "A cue's clue is Q ------> username"
Marrok thinks he's figured out the password is cranston, but without a username it's useless, right or wrong.

Rot-x won't do it. I made three substitutions to the alphabet for the username. Start with your ABCs, then your 1,2,3s. After that it gets tricky. But if you stick to the map, you'll get it. I suggest writing out the alphabet and then writing each substitution beneath it.
Also you quoted the bottom right corner pocket wrong. You've got the wrong direction.
Let me know if you need more tips. I'm flattered anyone is trying. So far only two folks have solved it.
Marrok has the password correct.
And for those who haven't seen the clues themselves
http://shadowboxinn.googlepages.com/bottomrightcornerpocket
username <---------- Q si eulc s'euc A
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
http://shadowboxinn.googlepages.com/bottomleftcornerpocket
the username is
MsjdWllwft
Also, ashes, I'm pretty sure sign-ups are closed until the game officially launches, Mr. Q posted this on myspace a few days ago.

I never got an invitation, I used Makyla's link.

regarding signups... i think that you can invite someone if you have their email address.
i messaged cue over on ning too, because i've been unable to noodle out the username, and got basically the same thing as az did...

The username is a three-part substitution. Start with your ABC's then list each substitution beneath them. Follow the order from the map. It will show you which pocket to go to. The third and last substitution is the trickiest. It is different from the rest. I can give you further tips if you need them.

No joy Username didn't ROT to anything. Unless it's anagrammed...

Thank you For sharing... sorry for posting without hitting refresh.
Guess waiting till the 8th means I'll have more time to get things in order. I blame P!R for missing out on the early sign up - if I hadn't gotten so distracted by him, I would have gotten on this one, I think. :-/

Hey, is anyone else trying to just cipher their way through? The impression that I'm getting is that the Top Left Corner pocket video is supposed to be significant, and that the sesame street video is...
Hypotheses:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Top Left Corner is saying B=8, or 8=B
Sesame Street Video is saying C=12, or 12=C, based on the text over the video.
And we're supposed to use both of these ciphers to crack the username...?
Any ideas from anyone else?

Ok - so if you see Q's myspace, he states that Mr Q/cueball/the White Rabbit are the Identity. Looks distinctly shadowy to me though. You guys think that is something to deliberately throw us off, and he actually has a shadow out there we need to find? Or am I misunderstanding something?
Also, at what level do you feel the Identity and Shadow connect, and at what level of "real" do you think the Identity exists? Are folks working with their static online personas (if you have such a thing)? Or something realer than that?
Trying to figure out where the lines cross, if I do decide to create a Shadow.

Wherever you want them to, Mr. Q threw his full RL identity out there. Others are sticking with their online persona's. It's 100% up to you.

I think I'm going to make a fully seperate online persona. Jelloarm no longer, I will assume the form of...
Aaah, but that would be telling, wouldn't it? ;P

I got a package in the mail today that's part of this game -- box contained a postcard and a pool ball (#11). I'll post something on ARGNet right away about it, so that you guys can see the postcard picture, which looks to be a stamp with "808080808" etched into it.

You need to friend Mr. Q on myspace, you should be able to guess his last name.

regarding the code for the username/password (pass has already been taken care of, if i remember correctly):
there are quite a few steps, and i couldn't make it through without some hints from mr. Q:
he sent this to Azure

Marrok has the password correct.
then this to me: ((this has step by step directions in it, really.))
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
bottom left pocket: (the encrypted username)
Start with: A B C....
TOP RIGHT POCKET: 1 2 3 ..... (Substitute 3
for C and completie for the rest of the alphabet.)
TOP LEFT POCKET:: (Look for the number and
letter that stand out. That's your substitution.
Align that letter with the corresponding number
from the last substitution. Complete for the
rest.)
BOTTOM RIGHT POCKET: (The substitution is again
from one letter to another. The two letters
should be jumping out at you in that text. But
there is also a trick with this one. When you
complete the substitution for the rest of the
alphabet you will complete it in the opposite
direction.)
So, you will have four rows:
1) A B C ....
2) 1 2 3 .....
3) (again the alphabet, but aligned according
to the top left pocket substitution)
4) (another alphabet, but aligned according
to the bottom right pocket substitution, and with
the alphabet in reverse)
Finally, take the encrypted username, and for
each
letter, find the substitution by looking down the
columns.
there is no way that i could have figured this out without the hints. (-_-)
