Iseeyouareastute replied.

(This, for context, was after asking him if he was the odd one out)

Ha, you may be more right than you know.

I can see you are a quick study. How shall I reward you?

There is one thing. I probably shouldn't be showing you this... but I will. It may give you some insight into what's happening in New York on July 12th.

Good luck!

Sarah's diary entry:

Quote:
Feb. 6th, 2008

"So hugely stood my Father's dream"

This was printed on pieces of paper on everyone's desks when we walked into Humanities today. Well, not just this, but an entire poem by E. E. Cummings - a long one. Professor Stanlan had that smile on his face. The one he gets when I feel like he's reading my mind.

We spent the whole class time discussing the poem. A lot of people talked about thier relationships with their fathers, especially father as a protector. As a teacher. As God. We also talked a lot about love.

But what struck me the most (besides the hugely standing father's dream, and that's another entry) was a line 3/4 of the way through. This great big wonderful poem, reminiscing about a loving titan of a father, suddenly turns dard with a single line: "then let men kill which cannot share." Then the disease I can't decide if the poet is saying that this is the world he found once he came out from under his father's wing, or if this was an aspect of his father all along.

I have no doubt Professor Stanlan knew this would affect me. He has an uncanny ability to read me, or maybe I have a way of opening to much to him. Maybe it couldn't be one without the other. Is it ridiculously arrogant to think that he picked this poem for me? I suppose that's what makes him such a great teacher, connecting with and making the material relvant to his students. Or maybe I need him or someone like him in my life so I'm just looking for ways I think he knows me that aren't really there. I have to STOP thinking about all of that.

Whatever. It is all stupid and to be honest I should not be focusing on that if I don't get downstairs soon, Tammy is playing hard to get to those boys and if it goes on much longer we'll never get our calc done.

Using this same method, I tried experimenting with the original image of the diary we got (prototype161.com/missing/nyc.jpg)

Prototype161.com/missing and prototype161.com/nyc come up with a 404 error with a gray background, but prototype161.com/missing/nyc comes up with the same page with a white background. Just a glitch, or...?

So does this: http://prototype161.com/anything/anything

It's just the way it's set up.

I can't help but think there's more for us to find here, either beyond the /diary page or with the doom.jpg. Oh well.
