really good catchup... does anyone know a way to get ahold of video of the event? i sent a message to DJ Yoda cause i had read somewhere that he had already played the fest. hes supposed to do "Wild in the country"with Sarah Main on july 5th...

 		Sites back up and nothing new.

Jeebus this thing feels stalled out right now. I'd like to post the symbol image link on Pete Heller's blog comments, but you have to be a friend in order to even comment on the blog. That wouldn't be so bad if he actually accepted a friend request. Right now it's just other DJ buddies who don't seem to have a clue about the game that are commenting. I'd post it on the main WI Myspace, but it feels like bad form.

Oh, almost forgot, Randomeis thought the symbol looked like the Japanese hiragana 'ko' - any way this could figure in here?

Yes things have majorly slowed. The most that's happened to me is I was contacted by the representative handling prizes about the delivery of my prize. I now know exactly who is running this thing btw. But I'm not sure I should post something so meta here.

Besides that. Nada.

I was the first to finish the first puzzle (picnic cloth symbol puzzle). I had no idea there were any prizes involved at that point. Cool

As to the meaning of the symbols... I think that is yet to be determined.

We finally have an update on the SPAI site and word of an attack on said site:

URGENT APPEALS

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Ibiza recently suffered an attack on our website. Not only was service to our members disrupted, but also our supporters and the public.

SPAI is a benevolant, public-service organization, dedicated to the protection of the records and artefacts of an ancient Mediterranean tradition, pre-dating contemporary Ibiza. An attack like this, frankly, is beyond our experience.

Aspects of the site now appear to have been altered, and although we can change our site, as soon as we upload it, the rogue alterations reappear. It is beyond our skills to delete these, and they have exposed a very small part of our archive to the public. They have also attached a number of unauthorized links to our site, which change regularly. Although they appear harmless enough for the moment, we cannot confirm the accuracy of these sites' content, nor predict future changes. We are archaeologists and public servants, not webmasters. Please, bear with us as we sort out the anomalies, and hopefully, our site.

Of more grave concern, however, Elisabeth Perl, our new assistant here at SPAI, has not reported to our offices for quite some time now - long enough to cause alarm. It is all the more worrying that Elisabeth has left a good many personal effects at our offices, including her professional equipment. We find this particularly worrying.

SPAI is issuing an urgent appeal for any information concerning Elisabeth's whereabouts. You'll find photos of her at www.laislablanca.com. Please, send any information you might have directly to me, James Haddow.

Have found some really interesting archives at work - old notes from a archaeologist called Adolf Schulten who lived here in the thirties. He's well known for his theories about the lost city of Tartessos, but I hadn't realised that he'd lived on Ibiza. I say interesting, but most of them seem to be in his own shorthand (and in German). James will be very excited when he gets back from London.
