OpenRPG
Online Virtual Tabletop

http://www.openrpg.com/
IRC: irc.chat-solutions.org, #rpg

OpenRPG is an online virtual tabletop for pen and paper roleplaying games. Any PnP RPG that you've played on a table, such as Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire: The Masquerade, or Mutants & Masterminds, can all be played online through OpenRPG.

At its core, OpenRPG is a chat room with built-in drawing board, dice rolling, note storage, and the ability to import images. The program is very easy to learn and makes playing with your online friends quick and simple!

There are Windows, Mac, and Linux versions available, so anyone can give it a go. Get a group together and start a game, or join one in progress. Fun, fun, fun!

... That was a horrible sales pitch.

Actually that looks like something very good to use as a backend for a bit more of a character interface for some elements of an ARG. It's GNU/GPL'd software, so basically you can grab it and modify it to your likings for your own use. Any enterprising PMs out there that might have the skills or resources to put it to use for something interesting?

I'm not too sure how well that would work, though. It's built for RPG playing - it wouldn't work too well unless you had an element built in to your story, like the MUD in Eldritch.

RPTools is a lot more stable than OpenRPG, so I'd recommend it instead.
