[INGEN] IngenBio (trailhead)

Twitter stream of vague bio-research with mentions of classified data and "foreign material", recombinant dna research, website referencing a nonexistent addresss, meta tags on home page "Infex, haz-mat, bio"... seems a bit suspicious, no?

iiinteresting...

Ingen is the genetic engineering company from Jurassic Park 4. That's the first thing that came to mind. No web hits besides mainly twitter chat with @ingenbio... there's references to "ingenbio.20m.com" but the site is empty (and there's a reference to a Pennsylvania address associated with that, likely OOG)

whois
* hosting is at 1and1
* domain registered May 5, 2006
* registrant info is to PCB Productions http://pcbproductions.com (not an anonymous registration)

PCB is a "digital content creation company for interactive, animation, film, music, and television productions"

looks intriguing...

Infectious disease research, often results in the failure of human trials and escalating drug development costs. Our Salt Lake research facilities allow us to isolate unconventional approaches, best suited to interdict a disease.
While it is significantly more complicated to study disease in humans, we believe it is the only way to successfully develop human therapeutics.

human guinea pigs? yikes. he looks like the guy from jurassic park.

Skimming over the twitters...
Background image: INGEN-BIO-Campus1.jpg

Twitter IngenBio looks to be Dr. Leonard Kendall - Ingen Bio, Senior Director of Applied Biotechnology
40-CFR1 could refer to "Code of Federal Regulations"

Video log fragments -- 40:CFR1 - 40:CFR40
where?

scratch that... twitter: "Kendall, Dr. Leonard J. - Restored from Kendall lab Fire 04-16-95 ((Kendall pronounced DOA 0722 hours))"

IngenBio isn't Dr. Kendall.

Search for a cure for cancer? Definitely something biogenetics-related, or bioengineering... more sci-fi Very Happy

Can't seem to find a similar logo anywhere. The building looks familiar though, almost 4400-esque.

From the jobs page:

Quote:
•Some co-ops/interns are given the opportunity to travel.
•Co-ops/interns can take full advantage of the social aspects of INGEN BIO's culture, whether it is business unit picnics, INGEN BIO sponsored co-op/intern events, or activities that the students organize themselves.

A pointer to possible live events?

Interesting... re: registrant PCB Productions...

Dr. Kendall is listed with "40-CFR-761" Code of Federal Regulations (twitter proile image).
A google brings up this info page, about CFR data

TITLE 40--Protection of Environment
ART 761--POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYLS (PCBs) MANUFACTURING, PROCESSING, DISTRIBUTION IN COMMERCE, AND USE PROHIBITIONS

maybe just a meta nod? "PCB Productions" doesn't appear in-game as its subject matter is totally unrelated to bio-engineering. So either the PCB connection is coincidental, or it's a meta-nod to the development team.

I particularly like the big word "LOGO" on their home page. Or that *all* the news is dated July 3rd. And the whole "Contact Us" page makes my brain hurt. Rolling Eyes

I have no idea what this could be, but I thought "Ingen" was a registered trademark owned by Universal Pictures; they're treading on thin ice here.
