ARGfest - The Tomb
dun dun dun!

For those who haven't kept up with the ARGfest site (like me)...
Quote:
Sunday, July 20:
Jason Chrest, from Aporia Cross Media Entertainment, has thrown down the proverbial ARG gauntlet for those of you brave enough to experience… THE TOMB (dun dun dun). Historical Boston sightseeing not ringing your bell? How about an historical, puzzle-y, curse-filled trip down into… THE TOMB! (dun dun dun. That is never going to get old. dun dun dun.) Jason is generously providing discount coupons for the entrance fee, which makes this too good to pass up. THE TOMB (dun dun dun) allows 12 people in at a time, so if you're interested in testing your wits against ancient scary mummies, head on over to the ARGFest Wiki Page to sign up! REALLY! THE TOMB! (dun dun dun) GO NOW!

Anyone else want to sign up? Also, there's 4 group slots on the wiki, does that mean a max of 48 signups, or is it 12 people split across the 4 groups (i.e. 3 in each)?

The website says groups of 12 (or more) can reserve private expeditions, so I would assume that's four groups of 12.

Looks awesome!

Everyone who is attending ARGfest will be able to get discounts at the Tomb. They ask that we stagger everyone out throughout the day Sunday so that we're not completely interfering with their regular customers.

For those interested in some more information about the Tomb (dun dun dun *sorry had to after reading the article*) - Here's some basic information from http://5-wits.com

The tours take about 45 minutes to walk though, new tours starting every 15 minutes. You'll enter a number of chambers throughout the Tomb (dun dun dun - lol) and will have to solve puzzles in each chamber to move through. I've never been through there so I'm really excited to get the opportunity to do so.

Entry for the Tomb is generally $20 per person. The deal that's been offered to me is that those attending ARGfest will receive $8 off of their admission fee.

If you're not able to get into a group or want to go at your own pace/time - feel free to do so. The groups only add convenience for those who might want to get together and do some other stuff later in the day - or want to make a flight/train/bus later and don't have the time for longer activities. The tomb opens at 10am and closes at 7pm.

What's the schedule for the groups? Sunday's schedule has a labyrinth training at 11am... which group would that conflict with? *waits to sign up in a slot*

Hopefully at least one of the groups is going fairly early since I have a train to catch at 4.

Discussion in chat seems to be heading towards group 1 (or whichever group goes first) getting in there early, at 10am if possible. That way, people attending the Lost Ring labyrinth training at 11 would be able to make it, if The Tomb (dun dun dun) is close enough.

Personally, I don't mind what time I go.

I'll be out of pocket visiting family most of Sunday, but if there's a late afternoon or evening group, let me know.

Last show on Sundays starts at 7 according to the site. Just FYI.

(random ramble: I hate the term FYI, it always sounds so arrogant. I mean no arrogance in using it here)

Yes, we might be able to make something after 5. I'm not sure what time the straggler's dinner will be or where- any ideas?

The hubbie and I have signed up. We're hoping to leave Sunday around dinner, but our plans are a bit flexible.

I will unfortunately be leaving way early Sunday morning (for a 12 hour drive that day, whee), otherwise I'd definitely do this. sounds like fun!

Those of you who are going to be leaving early on Sunday - don't get too bummed. Talk to me Friday or Saturday and hopefully I can have some good news for you - just look for the redneck Very Happy
