Probably nothing, at the least another Halo connection, but the phrase "Oly Oly Oxen Free" is used a lot in "Halo:First Strike". Kinda as a reference to the 6 note whistle that the Spartan's use to tell each other that it's safe to come out.
Just thought it'd be worth mentioning, as that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the new blog entry's title.
::EDIT:: monk250 beat me to it

I found this part interesting:
Quote:
Seems like I picked exactly the right hemisphere for a game of hide and seek.
especially in conjunction with the Operator/Melissa stating that it's her favorite game.
Quote:
Except he's lying. He's lying to her, Trying to impress her he's lying because that's the wrong game (how do I know that?) it's the wrong game and I know I can feel it my favorite game is HIDE AND SEEK!
Could this be a foreshadow of the end game? When the Operator/Melissa goes wide awake and physical?

I noticed that Dana used Olly Olly Axon Free.
In the Halo novels, it is Olly Olly Oxen Free (as in real life)
Dana was making the joke based on the links page.
The SPARTAN's favorite game was Hide and Seek. They usually were hiding from their trainers, and not each other. The Olly Olly Oxen Free and six tones were their signals to each other.
This could link the Operator/Melissa to the SPARTAN's somehow. Or another AI that knew about them. The AI that knew the most, of course, was Cortana. And she had copied herself so Master Chief could insert her in the Covenant system on the Unyielding Hierophant. Because of the Covenant's system, the copy splintered itself out and lost control while in the Unyielding Hierophant's computers. There were too many Covenant AI's trying to destroy her.
However, the REAL Cortana, when she had the first ship, was completely able to lock down and destroy one Covenant AI with very little trouble.
Okay, that was a lot of info, and some of it may even be trout. I'm not sure, but I thought I'd clarify it a bit for this thread.

re:AXONS Much of this post from Dana seems to be specifically aimed at the coordinates puzzle, which is titled "Axons go hot:" . Along with lots of the stuff in the new email, it seems that the PM's are trying to steer that puzzle along.

Ok, my friend moved from Beijing several years ago, and I had him have a look at all of this. He is very skeptical because he says:
1) Her Chinese is horrid, and the translated sentences don't make sense together (i'm lost. im sorry?)
2) There are no "sugary meat puff" donut things in China.
3) The Jinshanling (or however you spell it) section of the Great Wall is north of Beijing, and if she was traveling to Shanghai from Beijing (which is south ), then why would she go north, way out of the way, and south again to Shanghai?
He has been surprised at basically everything dealing with Chinese in this entire ARG, and he thinks there's something fishy like you guys have been saying. Just wanted to give some insight from a native Chinese person.

Reread her comment

Also: I emailed the Sleeping Princess, now that I'm in more wired country (not so many Wi-Fi spots along the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall).
I'm pretty sure she's saying that she could email now that she had access in Shanghai, unlike the area in the north by Beijing where she was previously.

Yeah, and maybe a couple AI...
IMHO, There are still quite a few characters that we can't rule out. Except maybe John.

I'm definitely beginning to think that the AI we're dealing with was one of Ackerton's AIs, or at least an AI on Reach. Maybe the one Halsey wiped when the Covvies attacked?

Erm, I just had one for lunch. They have little pieces of ground up meat, I'm guessing beef, and the outside is some sort of flour dough (semi-sweet).

Can you give us more backdrop on that?

Or, you could read the books....
Let's just say that Ackerton was not a nice guy, and him and Halsey were bitter enemies. So, when she goes to enter a database, guess whose AI is there to try to stop her?
Um, yeah... Well, there's a very quick overview. If you really need a serious backstory (and won't read the books) then by all means someone else go ahead.

An update I did on the Wiki on Aug. 10th:
"The Killer appears to have withdrawn from the field. I have data processes tracking her, but she appears to have physically escaped from me."
-Obviously the entity is speaking of Dana, and her trip to China. --Itsbullettime 11:18, 10 Aug 2004 (PDT)

From Dana's blog:
"Thanks for alerting me to the message you found on the metastasized site:
The Killer appears to have withdrawn from the field. I have data processes tracking her, but she appears to have physically escaped from me.
Well, the Operator may have grown axons, but by my calculations, Shanghai is axon-free.
Safe!"
------------
WOW! I guess Dana read my comment!!
