It gets worse. Same link.
Quote:
A German fashion company was investigated for using traditional British-made folded leather buttons after complaints that they resembled swastikas. In response, Esprit destroyed two hundred thousand catalogues.
And...
Quote:
In late 2005 police raided the offices of the punk rock label and mail order store "Nix Gut Records" and confiscated merchandise depicting crossed-out swastikas and fists smashing swastikas. In 2006 the Stade police department started an inquiry against anti-fascist youths using a placard depicting a person dumping a swastika into a trashcan. The placard was displayed in opposition to the campaign of right-wing nationalist parties for local elections.

But (thank goodness)...
Quote:
On March 15, 2007, the Federal Court of Justice of Germany (Bundesgerichtshof) reversed the above-mentioned verdicts, since the crossed-out symbols were "clearly directed against a revival of national-socialist endeavors", hereby settling the dispute for the future.
Which is the only thing that keeps this from being anti-facist facism...

I understand the sensitivity, I do. My step-father was Jewish. His mother came to the States in the early thirties (luckily). He was also a chapter president of the ACLU and hated this kind of law (and even this one specifically). Believed that in the free marketplace of ideas that the good and true ones would win out as long as they had a chance of being heard. But that means all ideas need to have the opportunity to be heard. Even the clearly evil ones. Because once you start deciding which sort can or can't be heard...

Yeah, he was a major influence for me... Smile

Big problem is the symbol was used in native/aboriginal artwork and other religions LONG before it was adopted by the National Socialists Party.

Wow... all very interesting. I'm a Jew, and I also agree with you pancito. Once you take away people's power to decide, even if you think your doing it for their own good, you enviably become the very thing you were attempting to protect against. The best way to protect people from evil is to arm them with knowledge. And the best way to get ordinary good people to do very very bad things (like kill 6 million people) is to leave them in a devastated country with no infrastructure and no money or resources until they are scared and desperate enough to listen to anyone who claims they have a solution (like the final one).

/also gets off soapbox

Hmmmmm. I'm tempted to join just yank their chains a little bit... "but it's late and I'm going to bed." I also found it interesting that they did TWO whois searches but didn't try Google, or they'd have found us. (Though the ringtone is ranked higher.)

The user Taxman has translated the blog http://kuromoritoshio.blogspot.com/ in german and english. here's what he wrote:

Quote:
As I haven't found any non-automatic translation of kuromori's blog so far on this thread, here it is (mind, that there are quite a few false commas in the original japanese version as well):
PFS
Quote:

This man, is my, teacher.
This man, is my, wisdom (?)
This man, if he was'nt there, I too, would have liked to see "Ether".

Deutsche Demokratische Republik
Quote:

East Germany, (is) my, second home (that is).
In times of sadness, of depression, I always, remember East Germany.
The glory, the vision, the light, I do like, extremely.
And I miss this feeling.

Befreie den einsamen Heuschreck
Quote:

In fact, I do have, almost no, personal belongings.
The personal belongings, I have, are the rests, of my life.
The human life, is long, and doesn't end, seemingly.

This, this letter, this "Gedicht" (meaning "poem") is, a work of my teacher.
1919... I had been a young and naive student. (note usage of quite old form of "I")
My teacher, my Master. I am but a mere reflection of this man.

不思議 (strange)
Quote:

It is strange.
If I, go out, I feel, not being (doesnt't make sense in Japanese)
But, when I am, in a Laboratory, I fell happy, eternally.

喚声 (cry)
Quote:

a quiet place
I stopped screaming / crying, too. (note, subject is not clear. cant tell whether he or somebody/something else was making the noise)
But I can still hear it

お誕生日 (birthday)
Quote:

On this day, I was born (written in a form meaning: accidentally/could'nt do anything about it).
Many years ago. Life hurts. The present hurts. my head hurts (aches).
There is nobody near me. only THEM.

Hope this helps a bit.

I recieved a phone call this morning from what my caller ID listed as 100001234565. It was a man who asked for me by name and then proceeded to warn me against contacting Eklipse Global again, said my package would be arriving shortly containing answers.

Edit: Forgot to mention when I got the original e-mail and checked the company site I called the Hong Kong HR number and left a message with my information.

I received this email aswell. And I got added on Facebook by someone named Hernando Santamaria. His profile pic shows one of the Eklipse Global Symbols (the one with the eagle) and he seems to be the guy who is on the new flyer of them. He has a note about that on his profile:

Quote:
Wow! Eklipse Global placed my pic in their recruitment poster!

Smile

Well if you are also interested to study abroad and get $35,000 for expenses for pretty much nothing you should try it. I did and i had a blast!

no this isnt spam... Smile

I will go to one of the addresses tonight, which was displayed first on the Eklipse Website. Mehringplatz 76 in Berlin. Let's see, what we can find out there.

With those new coordinates in Berlin we had no luck. There was nothing to find.

Sad no email (yet?)

so I'm guessing the image attachment is a part of what's necessary to determine the PDF password...

I guessed the exact same thing. Smile

The PDF file name (infoheft2008ersteAuflage01) translates (partially) as german: info <?> 2008, first edition. Not sure what the heft thing is.

I think I only got the email because I filled out the form on their website asking for more info on their research projects.
