This may be troutbait, but the symbols on the gear translate as "tooth gear", according to babelfish.

The same symbols appear on the top of kuromoritoshio's blog, underneath which are symbols translating as "Like this you talked the black forest" or "said 黒森" in google.

I'm willing to bet the answer to that question is the password to the file.

Throwing the "黒森はこう語った" into Google pulls up three pages:

From the clues in the Japanese translation Toupiie found this blog http://pacific-islander.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html with this image on it. It has a barbershop, a temple for a wedding ceremony, is on Tokaido hwy and has fertilizer and Ivy. Very Happy

Not sure there is Ivy there though. Also take into account that the translation might not be correct, and might not mention Ivy at all .
