I don't think it was the fact that kids were shot and killed in a school shooting, but more the fact that the gov't finally had media influences (video games and music figures mostly) that they could blame for such a tragedy. Just another way to censor and have control over the public.

Evil or Very Mad man!!! that sucks for rest of us who like games like Halo or gears of war!!

All it takes is a parent that gives two shits about their kid enough to only place them in good hands and not use any sort of media as a babysitter. But that would take responsibility; what parent wants to deal with that when they can just turn around and point the finger at marilyn manson and doom? Lazy assholes...

Then i'm going to be neglecting my child a shit load. If my child doesn't cower at the sound of my name, then i have failed as a parent.

Those of you who know me already know that I am a high school teacher (filmmaking). During the summer I get the opportunity to teach high school students from all over the city of Houston how to make movies on a budget at the University of Houston. It is a lot of fun. Here is what I know...

There is no such thing as a documentary without bias. Some projects stray so far from being a "documentary" due to the biases of the filmmaker that they have to be classified as "documentary-style."

I am 100% sure that had I put together a retrospective that it would have been completely different. That would not make it "right" or "wrong." It would just me mine. It is up to the consumer (viewer) to accept or deny the input (film/video project). For example; just because Michael Moore thinks that guns should be outlawed in the U.S. or that our Constitution should be re-interpreted to provide a new and heretofore unnamed right (socialized health care) does not mean that his opinion are correct or even valid. Like all filmmakers he has an agenda and he makes his case by making "documentary-style" films. It is very good at it. It is up to YOU to believe him or not.

I take it that most of you are relatively young, compared to myself. When I was your age (God I do sound old) I felt the same way that most of you do about our country. But I was wrong. Sorry to tell you this, but I was really too young to be able to have a clearer perspective of our country and it's greatness. Unless you want to sound like a whiny, mewling child (some of you have this down to an art) I would ask that you temper the way in which you present your argument with a little bit of dignity. Dignity for yourself, for your viewers (if you are making a film/video), and for the country that acknowledges your RIGHT to voice your opinion...no matter how silly it may be.

I've had the exact opposite type of "revelation," if you want to call it that. When i was young i believed that our country was correct for the most part, and did what was in its power to protect its citizens at all costs. It's only been the last year or so that i've thought it differently, beginning to question some of those beliefs. As you grew older, you saw the country under a more positive light; as i grow older, i have begun to see it under a more negative light. Neither are wrong; you said it yourself, it's simply our opinions.
I must say that i do love America to death, and would rather live in no other country. I'm not an Anti-American militia man living in the forest or something. I'm just not seeing the country under the perfect white light i once saw it under.
I must ALSO say that i am probably closer to your age than most on here, so i am not saying this because i'm young, temperamental, and angry.

yeah i can see your point to certain level i can say that there are parents who dont give a shit about kids because those people only have kids just they can keep getting there food stamps and WIC checks and trust me i work in a grocery store where i see that way too often and the thing about parents not grounding anyone or spanking there kids because they dont want to be accused of child abuse becuase there are also people who just over do it and hurt the kid DAMN this is pissing me off!!! Evil or Very Mad

I may be wrong, but didn't we start aggressions in Afghanistan BEFORE Iraq? And now that Saddam is dead, Afghanistan is worse than it was before.
Hmm.. contradictory points.

"Afghanistan is worse than it was before."

Are you kidding?

Seriously. I am not trying to be facetious. I would really like to know if you honestly believe that Afghanistan is worse now than it was before.

When I mean "before", I mean earlier in the war. Not farther back than that.
