Just throwing this out there, could there be two translations/conversions needed?

Base something? Based (haha) on the usage of "Based" in Agent Rhoale's email.

Maybe some combination of ROT18 and Base9?

ETA: Base9 doesn't work for anything the whole 0-8 limitation.

Good eye, though. May still be something. I've tried several combinations of converting from Base-10/Hexidecimal and Base-9 and ROT18. I got some combinations without zeros or ones. Tried running them through the predictive text simulator but nothing. You may be on to something, though. These node puzzles have been very challenging so far and the subtle hints inside a message have led to a solution before.

 		btw, the melody played on the broadcast is a traditional tune called "The Lincolnshire Poacher".

I used the melody search tools on this site, and it gave me the following match -- same tune but in a slightly different key (pitch) than how I heard it, but spot on!

 		look at what i just found and does anyone else notice a resemblance? also I know it is OOG but it is similar so i am thinking further research into the matter can help us figure out what is going on in game no? its happened before after all

This is Lincolnshire Poacher which is a shortwave numbers station which is believed to be operated by the British Secret Intelligence Service and is used to communicate to undercover agents.

It is possible to decode it using a one-time pad...

EDIT: My bad... just realized luisconceicao beat me to it on the IG forum and suggests the one-time pad is the punchcard.

 		I have found a site/page that goes into "number stations" in quite alot of detail http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/numbers.htm
this makes me think that the numbers on the transmission are the cipher numbers and the numbers on the email are the "one time pad".

 		I have to just say that this is pretty neat. While I'm not actually solving anything, I'm learning a hell of a lot of cool stuff. Very Happy

Now I'm gonna go read up on the Lincolnshire Poacher and one-time pads.

I'm trying to check numbers with the EtheN forum but they seem to be down for the moment.

Using the info that Vancanek and luisconceicao have come up with so far:

- Items of interest in the email: 18, 9, "based"
- The numbers in the email are most likely the one-time pad.
- The numbers in the transmission SEEM to only be using 0-8 which may tie into the mention of "based" in the email - Base9.

I can't tell the difference between the 1s and 9s so for the moment I'm gonna make an assumption that the message itself is encoded using base9 - but to what purpose?

Potential method of encryption:

- Original message in Plaintext
- Plaintext message converted to numbers/ciphertest - but how?
- Message encoded using one-time pad and transmitted.

Can't figure out how to get the message into numbers Confused

Cracked it!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Using the numbers from email as the OTP and the numbers from the transmission as the ciphertext (and yes some of the 1s should be 9s and vice versa) split each of the number groups into pairs. Subtract the OTP from the ciphertext and you get

20 18 7 26 14 3 6 18 9 18 1 19 22 9 18 7 10 2

Notice the fourth number is 26. That means lay out the numbers as A=1 and Z=26. You get

trgzncfrirasvirgjb

If you ROT13 that you get

getmapsevenfivetwo

I have no idea how to use this new information yet but googling Map 752 gives you results for Norway. National Map 752.

 		Entering the results from the code into the agent terminal gives you an image of one of Richards favorite things.

I tried overlaying the punchcard and it does fit inside the red area. I will upload shortly.

ETA: Added overlayed image.

Wow we have our work cut out for us. I'm plotting the coordinates now.

locations in order with information
the following is from above posts and the map plus my work.. the map stuff is in order with the locations normal & decimal and the street address they line up to & if the addresses actualy exsist or not .. some seem to be a bit different from the above posts for example the LAS VEGAS one is no place near the fashion mall its actualy south of VEGAS near the southern end of Henderson airport
i see it as odd if the numbers after the date are military time its odd that there is a 800 instead of 0800
there is one address that seems to be a huge medical building in CALGARY ... one is a real life address in san francisco but be i posted the link to her website showing her address but I DO NOT THINK SHE IS PART OF THE GAME ! the info i read looks too real and she seems to have verifiable real life credits & clients (big ones) looks like a accident on node's behalf

I used www.mapquest.com to look up by long/lat but it does not give an actual street address, just a location on a map. All locations are near a major landmark, so that's what I went with. Your information is probably more acurate, though. I would like to mention that these locations smell of red herring. Absolutley nothing is happening in any of these locations on the listed dates/times AFAICT and the street address are for the most part fake.
