Well, I figured it out....the hatch system is, and I quote from an Apple history site, "A nice display of an Apple II Plus system, circa 1979, with what appears to be one of the monitors that was sold with the Apple III, circa 1980."

I have enclosed a pic of the hatch set up and the picture that is from the description above. They are identical. 1980 it is.

EDIT: I would realllllllllly like to be chosen as one of the recruits. I was 18 years old in 1980, just out of high school.........heh. Oh to go back in time!!!

I love the joust cartridge in that picture! It really offers a solid context. (Can't you just see Locke and Ben, circa end of season two, cursing each other and playing round after round of Joust, landing their angry little birds on each others' heads?)

I use to own one of those, and my father used it for word processing up to the late 90s.

When I first started teaching in 1991, the impoverished barrio school I was at had them in the business class. That year we wrote a grant and got some Quadras. But we still used the II's to teach BASIC programming. My first MAC was a "classic"...the little square model. The next one was a IIc, and my third was a Quadra. My fourth was a FlowerPower iMac, and now I have an iBook G4. I still have all the others though....I should donate them to a museum! LOL!!

Although there were a few PC types that looked like that, I was pretty sure it was an Apple product, so I searched there first, and voila!

Sassy,
I just noticed your edit from the 7/3 post. Forgive me if my math is incorrect, but doesn't that make you, like, 1337 years old, or something?

Yeah something like that. Heh.

46, actually. I really graduated HS in 1980.

We are having this same discussion about me being old over in the DELETED folder too.....what's up with that?????? I am really frustrated by that game, as you have to act like you are in junior high to get anywhere.

And sekrits in the source:

If you're reading this, wanna hear something cool?
I've got intel about his little "recruitment drive."
They're doing some kind've personality/IQ testing or something down in SD for ComicCon.
Buddy of mine works down there and has the approvals for their "booth," he says once you go in no one knows what happens inside and you need an appointment to get in. He also said to make sure you've got your Bluetooth on and visible – he's rigged up a little something.

The whole thing sounds like elitist B.S., doesn't it?
Well, I'm getting in that booth and taking the test.
As many times as I have to before I "pass" (whatever that means?)
And then…
If I can?
I'm gonna tape it so EVERYONE can see what these idiots are up to.
Should be fun, right?
See ya in SD. RuckusGuy OUT.

Hopefully there's something to do for us poor souls who can't make it to ComicCon. Guess we'll have to wait till July 28th and www.dharmawantsyou.com.

Sounds like this RuckusGuy is going to be the OGR's version of Rachel Blake. Maybe he'll get into the assessment booth and get us some video on the 24th. There's no youtube account for the name, but maybe we should keep an eye out for it. They might choose to use a private website though. They did for everything last time if I remember correctly.

There are some pixels hidden in dharmawantsyou.com.

Anyone got an idea what it could be?

RuckusGuy

There's a RuckusGuy on Facebook. Maybe nothing, but I added him as a friend.

I'm so glad I got a pass for Comic-Con this year! Can't wait!
