[SPEC] It's all greek to me

Maybe trout, but I couldn't search full text so I'm not sure.

Because of the heavy tie-ins to Greek history in the books and game (spartans, mjoliner, cortana, etc.) why aren't people looking deeper into the greek mythology?

As has already been pointed out, many parallells have been drawn between Halo and Greece. And it's no surprise that one of the hottest theories about the coordinates has to do with Astronomy (coincidence? I think not).

What do you think? Maybe there's more to it than English (or Chinese) can show.

(and, just in case, Trout)

EDIT: Here's a page about the past August 24ths. Maybe someone or something important happened...

There's quite a bit of information about Greek Mythology in the Wiki.

Nice. Thanx.

So, no one else even remotely interested in posting here? If not, feel free to lock this thread, "security guard" Cool

Okay, Mjoliner isn't Greek.... And nobody cares about this thread.

Locky!

I've done enough locking for one day.

I suggest letting it do the float. Wink

I used to read a lot of greek mythology but nothing springs out.

I don't want to contradict an original idea, but Greek myths tend to have a decided abscence of important female characters, whereas we have a 3:1 f:m ratio here. (Unless the pious flea becomes the Hero, GO FLEA GO!)

Uhm, Mjolnir isn't greek.
It was probably a typo, but as a Scandinavian Newbie, I just have to say that Mjolnir, or Mjølner as it is know over here, was Thor's hammer.
